Re: players not in the game caps

I have to agree w/ Rondo. Robnett isn't having the best year. Bump the contact down 5-7 and the power 3-5 and it'll be fine. He also hasn't proved to be a 4* potential yet, but he is a good player.

Is that the Ben Johnson the Cards drafted in the late 90's? If so, I thought he was a power hitter.

Talking Re: players not in the game caps

Could someone make a cap for Cubs AA P Jonathan Connolly

Early last season the Cubs traded Felix Sanchez to the Tigers in exchange for Connolly. Connolly isn't the big, overpowering pitcher many of us have come to associate with the organiztion's young guns, but that doesn't mean he isn't effective. While not overpowering enough to strike out a lot of batters, Jon does to other important things very well; keep the ball in the park and not walk anybody. His K/9 of over 4.0 and ERA of 2.40 at Daytona last season earned him a late-season callup to AA as a 21 year old. While he doesn't have the glamour of some of the Cubs' young power arms, if Connolly can continue missing at least a few bats, his control could easily carry him to the majors.

After Felix Sanchez frustrated Dusty and front office alike after not performing in April as he had in Spring Training, Jim Hendry traded the left-hander to the Detroit Tigers. Back from Detroit, they landed Jon Connolly, the 2003 minor league ERA leader. Not a lot different from the 2004 ERA leader, Zach Duke, Connolly is a soft-throwing southpaw that has yet to face stiff competition. The belief is they players get weeded out of the system when reaching AA, but Connolly really impressed Cubs' brass in one AA emergency start. I'm a big fan of Connolly and hope he stays in the franchise, but if some organization wants to take a chance on some leftie with a mid-80s fastball for a year, let them have at it.
