- Decent slider at 86-87 MPH, good tight break, 10-to-4 movement.

Mike Krukow said he can throw a changeup but I don't believe I saw him throw one. Er, well, actually, there was one pitch that he threw in the dirt at 81 MPH which appeared to have pure vertical movement which I believe might have been his change, but Kruk said it was a bad slider. For now, though, I'll call it a changeup. :P

The SF Chronicle reported that Accardo also has developed a cutter. I didn't see it when I watched him blow the save today, but it may just be that there wasn't a good time for it.

I can post a full CAP later if no one else posts one.
I'm making one right now, thank you for the scouting report. Can anybody recommend a delivery?

Re: players not in the game caps

Andy,

Style 3 is the one with the low leg kick, correct? It's been a few hours and my short term memory isn't great, but I believe he has a good, high leg kick. Not Dontrelle Willis high, but Jerome Williams or Matt Morris high. He brings his front leg up so that it's nearly touching his chest, I believe.

Good job with the CAP, though, and I'm glad you and mtmcq284 found my scouting report useful.

Also, I think the "slider" I talked about earlier and the "cutter" the SF Chronicle reported are the same pitch. The few breaking pitches he threw had average cutter movement with late break, unlike most modern sliders which have a fairly large amount movement and break a little earlier (some sweeping, others diving, etc).

Like a lot of other relievers, Accardo goes from the stretch all the time. Style 2 is fine, though. Doesn't go arms-over-head, correct arm angle, somewhat high leg kick... good enough.

Also, he has pretty good control of the four-seam fastball. Even in a nervous situation such as the one he was in earlier today (second ML appearance of his career, first ML save opportunity), he was able to paint the black with his four-seamer (high 70s control, I would say). The control ratings you have for the two-seam and changeup are right on, though. The two-seam I know for sure was wild, and the only pitch that even resembled a changeup was in the dirt.

Re: players not in the game caps

Andy could you make a ray sadler cap you just got called by Pittsburgh and could you make a Cla Meredith cap who just got call up by the Red Sox. he is the Sox's 10th top rated prospect
