Okay, this update has more minor league players added. A lot more. Still a bunch left to edit. Lack of AAA and AA rosters makes this tough. Future updates will fix the minor leagues as perfectly as I can.

Lots of changes to players that have been noted in the player edit thread in the OS MVP forum.

Also included are the accurate pitch types for 176 starters, 30 closers and 110 relievers according to the Sporting News Ultimate Baseball Scouting Guide.

I still have 119 relievers to edit that I was not able to get to. That will be in the next update which will be out soon.

I have tested a few games with these changes and they are really cool.

    Re: MVP Baseball 2004 Roster - PS2 - blacklover

Ok, it was late last night and I didn't have time to write more about what is in these rosters.

Plus my laptop keyboard at home really sucks.

Here is what is in the roster file:

(All of the lineup and defensive position and rotation and bullpen info is current as of 3-7-04 to today)

    Major League teams
Corrected rosters (FA moves, trades, releases after 1/15)
All rosters based on MLB.com 40 man rosters and NRI lists.

Correct Starting Rotations and Bullpens (there are still a few stray pitchers who may not stay with the big team in the bullpens)

Correct Batting orders vs RH w and w/o DH (LH orders were tweaked but until the season starts I won't know this info for sure)

Correct defensive lineups (based on Rotowire.com and ESPN)

    Minors:

Prospects, prospects, prospects, and some veterans.

I need to get a list up here of all the players I have added.

I'll try to get something together.

Okay, so the next update will just be more prospects and any players missing, any trades or releases or additions, and and changes to the BO, SR, or DL.

    Enjoy.

If you think anything is wrong or missing do not hesitate to email me at:

    [email protected]

and I will get the changes in the roster file asap.

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I will be installing and checking them out in a few minutes, and I'm sure they will impress.

Again, many thanks for taking the time to do this. Accurate rosters add to the game immensly, and it's great when people take the time to put out quality ones.

One quick little thing I saw that I was wondering about. In the Cards AAA Rebirds roster, there is a player named Ray Langford. Is that right or is it supposed to be veteran Ray Lankford?

                      Re: MVP Baseball 2004 Roster - PS2 - blacklover

First, thank you for all your hard work -- these are great!!

And now some suggestions on the major league rosters. There a few guys that you have in AAA that will probably make the minors (Carlos Baerga on Arizona or Surhoff on the Orioles, for example), but this early in the Spring, it's not worth speculating, so I'm only listing some definite changes -- I'll list some additional prospects in a separate post:

                      Boston
You have Robert Person as the top starter in AAA -- he was with the White Sox, but they released him after he injured his shoulder -- he won't pitch this year and his career is probably over -- I'd lower his ratings to almost nothing and make him a free agent

                      Cubs
Ryan Dempster will be out most of the year with a shoulder injury -- he should be replaced on the major league roster by either Juan Cruz or Todd Wellemeyer. I'd also lower his ratings so that a computer manager won't call him up

                      White Sox
Not a big deal, but the Sox released Marvin Benard (you have him in AAA)

                      Cincinnati
Reds released John Vander Wal (he's out until Aug with an ACL injury). I'd replace him with Chris Reitsma from AAA (although there about 5 guys in AAA who could beat out players you have in the Majors)

                      Kansas City
Runelvys Hernandez is out for the year with Tommy John surgery -- you have him in AAA but I'd lower his ratings so that a computer manager won't call him up.

                      Los Angeles
The Dodgers will probably make some trades to clear up the pitching surplus, but Jose Lima doesn't have a good shot at making the majors over Darren Dreifort. Dreifort will open the season in the bullpen

                      Milwaukee
Nick Neugebauer won't pitching until June or July -- I'd move Ruben Quevedo up from AAA to take his spot.
The Brewers released Mike Crudale (earlier today -- you didn't miss anything). I'd replace him with Victor Santos from AAA

                      Mets
I might be wrong, but I thought the Mets released Pedro Astacio (AAA)
Mo Vaughn won't play again -- he can't officially retire because of his contract so he is on the Mets roster, but you should release him from AAA (and lower his ratings to 0)

                      Yankees
You didn't lower Jeter's range enough!! Try 50 or 60
Donovan Osbourne has no chance -- I'd replace him on the major league roster with Jorge DePaula

                      San Diego
Unless they work a trade, Terrence Long should be in the Majors instead of Brian Buchanan

                      Again, great job!

So far so good on the rosters, thanks. On the Reds Vanderwal is going to be released from his major league contract then resigned to the minors for his injury, not waived completely.
