Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

excellent sliders jistic!!!! the only problem is that i can't hit worth a damn. i don't want to change the sliders though because they are great. i can pitch fine and the variation is great. i recently pitched with verlander and he gave up 5 runs in 6 innings striking out 6 and giving up 8 hits with 2 walks. then the last game i had a 7 inning 6 hit performance from burnett who gave up 2 runs and struck out 7 with 1 walk. so thats great. but i cant hit a homer and i can't score runs. i havent hit a homer on ur settings yet infact i can barely hit on on just regular allstar. also i have onlhy scored one run ikn the last three games. i know its not ur sliders because i can feel that when i get better they will be perfect. do u have any tips for me on hitting??? i am extremely patient drawing 3-4 walks a game getting the countr in my favor but no matter how hard i try too time it right it doesn't work and also i cant make contact oftejn and i can't ever guess a pitch right and when i do it's a single even if i am prewssing up i cant jack it out. this game is so close to being amazingly fun and very realistic for me but please help i need to learn to hit!!!!!!!!!! anybody can chime in i need all the help i can get.

Go against your tendencies. I have no problem racking up double digit K's with elite starters or at least 4-6 with others. They will swing if you change things up.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

On average I will get about 2-4 strikeouts a game playing as the Braves. My main problem comes into play when I go ahead 0-2 or 1-2 on outside pitches and then I go to change things up by burning a 2 seamer or cutter on the inside part of the plate (depending on pitcher). It seems almost ANYTIME I go inside they always smack the hell out of the ball if they are a decent hitter.

One general question about the game: Hot and Cold zones; What are their ACTUAL effects on hitters. Like if I'm going against a hitter with like the whole outter half of the plate in red, I am basically screwed. If I go outside it's in their hot zone and if I go inside it's in the natural "inside pitch that the CPU always seems to jack" zone.

I also have trouble giving up too many homers. I do just about everything, i work the cold zones, go inside, outside, up, down but still too many mediocre hitters punish my mistakes for home runs. I was givng up about 3-4 homers a game and the AI was scoring the majority of their runs off homers. So I dropped teh AI power slider to -50. At this I noticed that only the real home run hitters will hurt if you if you make a mistake which is more realistic and more often now the AI is putting together innings when they get 5 to 6 hits and score their runs off singles, doubles etc...

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Yea I knocked the CPU Power down a lot and I've noticed them playing more small ball and getting realistic homerun amounts per game/series.

My only problem now is that John Smoltz went from a Cy Young season to a 4-10 season

Replaced em for a while with a nice rookie but I hate losing Smoltzy.

I still love these sliders.

sometimes it seems like team chemistry is dragging you down. i also have a problem hitting HRs. i replayed 2005 and ortiz only hit 15 for me. i had 25 with bay and about 26 with wright. (fantasy draft). anyway, you need to pull up and it for lefties. also, maybe you are too slow. the best pitches to hit are hanging sliders and fastballs. if you can't get around then you will never hit one. check the swing analysis. if you are always late reduce pitch speed.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

I notice that it is near impossible to make contact with the pitch outside the strike zone. The hitters eye color is also VERY hard to see at least on my screen. Overall MVP 2005 is a fine game with many positives but I am not sold on the hitting. I am not going to give up just yet but it has been very hard to find the right hitting sliders on ALL STAR level. Everything else is fine though. I want to be able to hit home runs without having to aim up and in everytime. With other swings it seems hard to hit home runs with power at 0. I do not want to increase the power too much because then it becomes too easy to hit home runs aiming up and in.

Great sliders, but I just started a M's dynasty and everythings whack, they nail every pitch,66 pitches after 8 inninigs
note before these worked perfectly, but all of a sudden they're going nuts
