Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

just some FYI for ya Jistic. Liking your sliders thus far. Pitch speed I had to change to make faster (more realistic IMO) Anyhow once I get some more games in I will get some more feedback ,but I wanted to let ya know there is a thread on here for High Heat sliders (something to that effect) that is basically yours with a few mods.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

I just tried your sliders Jistic and I was pretty impressed. I've been playing with Heelfan's Pro sliders, and wanted to try All Star for a change. I played Oakland vs Seatte (me). I beat them 3-1. Both teams K'd 7 times. Ichiro hit a solo shot and Olivo hit a sweet 2 run shot off the foul pole. I also hit my first triple in this game with Ichiro. Nice job on the sliders.

It seems you and I are doing the same thing! I started at All Star and dropped back down to Pro because I was getting killed. I went back up to All Star because I felt the CPU pitched more intelligently and wanted to try Jistic's sliders. They worked out very well for me. I made a few minor tweaks (mainly to the Human contact/power sliders) because I'm not real great at hitting yet.

Anyhow, these sliders play very well from my experience. Good job Jistic!

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

For those that are having success with these, but all means don't change. I did have to do some minor tweaking as I had a problem with my starters falling apart a little TOO fast. Also a slight issue with CPU baserunning. I'll cover more at the end of this post. Here's my revised version.

Pitcher Injury Frequency: 0

Fielder Injury Frequency: 0
Pitching MG Difference: 0
Here's what I did essentially. I needed to keep pitch counts accurate, and walks accurate, BUT I needed starters to be able to be effective into the later innings, especially if they had low pitch counts. For me that wasn't happening.

**User fatigue so low? If you use this setting, you need to change your thinking. Energy % will NOT mean anything. But pitch count will! That is what's important. You can have a guy at 50-60% energy but still not be able to throw a strike. Remember Pitch Counts are what's important.

**CPU Power so low? YES. This slider really hasn't seemed to do too much. With the pitching set so far to the hitters favor the CPU just hit 4 HR's in their last game against me with this setting. Don't be scared they will still punish you, and that includes the lighter hitting guys. YOu still gotta nibble. Nibble = More Walks, but also more K's and LESS HR's allowed.

**CPU runner agression reduced? I don't know about anyone else, but in my games the CPU third base coaches have been worse than Wedell Kim! They send everybody and I've been gunning them out at home a little bit too much because they hit it shallow and still go. This reduced that a bit without making them too conservative on the basepaths.

Like I said if you're having success with V.1, with or without your own tweaks then keep using that. This is just what I had to do to smooth out the rough edges for me. That's it. As always, feedback welcome!

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Usually I don't post on message boards much, but since I
had such a good game using your sliders,
I decided I should give you some feed back.

I was using someone elses sliders prior to these,
but wasn't having any luck hitting, so I tried yours this morning.

Using Version 1

Game Recap:

(Me)Angels 3, Mariners 0

---- 123 456 789 R H E
ANA 200 000 001 3 8 0
SEA 000 000 000 0 4 1

2B - ANA Cabrera
3B - SEA Ichiro
HR - ANA Guerrero
RBI - ANA Guerrero(2) (Third run scored on a double play in the 9th)
SB - ANA Figgins, SEA Winn
CS - ANA Quinlan (Pick Off)
E - SEA Boone

Pitching---- IP H ER BB SO (Pitches)
ANA
Escobar(W) 8.1 4 0 2 6 (92 Pitches)
Rodriguez(S) .2 0 0 0 0 (NA)
SEA
---- Moyer(L) 7 5 2 3 5 (96 Pitches)
---- Mateo 2 3 1 0 1 (NA)

***Notes

* 4 out of 5 of Moyers K's came against lefties,
just like in real life soft tossing lefties always kill Angel hitters.

* Vlad's Homer in the 1st inning came on a 3-1 count, on a hanging curve
hit into the Mariners bullpen.

Overall great sliders, fielding is great(not always perfects throws - first
baseman needs to adjust to ball), hitting and pitching is fun and feels real.

Thanks for the time and effort put into the sliders,
its much appreciated and you just made this game 10 times better in my eyes.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Great sliders Jistic.

Giants (Me) vs. Dodgers

Code:
	R H E
LA	2 9 0
SF	0 6 0

IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	PITCHES
Odalis Perez	8.0	6	0	0	5	6	0	101
Eric Gagne	1.0	0	0	0	0	0	0	5

Jason Scmhidt	7.0	6	1	1	0	6	1	81
Armando Almanza	1.0	1	0	0	0	2	0	15
Tyler Walker	1.0	2	1	1	0	0	0	8
Great pitch count by Perez, the Dodgers left him in to star the 9th, but when gave up a base hit they subbed in Gagne who promptly shut me down. I think Schmidt had a good pitch count for the amount of innings he threw, only 7 so 81 is a good count.

I also really like how Odalis Perez pitched around Barry Bonds. Bonds walked twice on 4 pitches, Kd and grounded out. The CPU pitchers really worked the zone well and had me off balance all game. I had no walks with Schmidt, but that's understandable cause he has great control of his pitches and i didnt leave him in long eough to really get teed off on.

Overall, excellent sliders, great experience.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Played an interesting game with these sliders....

Atlanta (Me) 10 3 2
Florida (CPU) 1 6 0

Atlanta
Furcal 2-4, 2rbi, 2bb, 0K
Giles 1-3, 2rbi, 3bb, 2K
C. Jones 0-4, 1rbi, 2bb, 1K
A. Jones 0-4, 0rbi, 1bb, 0K
LaRoche 0-3, 1rbi, 2bb, 1K
Mondesi 0-3, 2bi, 2b, 0K
Estrada 0-2, 1rb, 3bb, 1K
Jordan 0-4, 0rbi, 1bb, 3K
Hudson 0-2, 1rbi, 3bb, 1K

Florida
Pierre 1-4
Castillo 1-4, 1K
Cabrera 1-4
Delgado 1-4
Lowell 0-3, 1bb, 2K
LoDuca 1-4, 1K
Encarnacion 0-4
Gonzalez 1-3, 1K
Beckett 0-1
Bump 0-1
Easley 0-1

Atlanta
Hudson CG, 6h, 1r, 0er, 1bb, 5K

Florida
Beckett 3.1ip, 1h, 10r, 10er, 17bb, 6K (106 pitches)

Bump 3.2ip, 1h, 0r, 0er, 1bb, 1K (58 pitches)
Howard 2.0ip, 1h, 0r, 0er, 1bb, 2K (27 pitches)

It was really weird, Beckett was all over the place. Now one of the announcers (Krukow or Kuiper, I get them confused) did say something like, "He doesn't have his best stuff today". And the umpire definitely squeezed him some. But 17 walks? He wasn't pulled until I managed my first hit in the 4th inning.

After Beckett left, the game settled down, as you can tell by the stats. I only drew a couple more walks. I think all those walks early threw me off my game a little though, which is why I only ended up with 3 hits. At least, thats my excuse.

Pitching was fun, though. I really had to work to get guys out. The one walk I allowed was a situation where I pitched around Lowell. Runners on 2nd & 3rd, 1 out. I fell behind, but nibbled my way to a full-count. I didn't want to make a mistake, though, so I tried to get him to chase a ball. He didn't bite. Very cool, and realistic. I had several deep counts, but also a few quick AB's, which explains why my pitch count was relatively low.

Aside from Beckett's apparently flukey wildness, the game was quite fun.
