Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

I played two hames last nite using your version 1 sliders. I didn't have any problems with my pitchers burning out too quick. First game Pitt (me) vs Milwaukee, I lost 3-2. My starter (Fogg) went 6 2/3. He struck out 6 and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits.

2nd game I played a single A game. My starting pitcher went 6 innings, giving up 1 run. I probably could have left him in longer, but I was looking at my first victory in this game, so I played it safe and went to the pen before he tired.

Another great game. I think you pretty much solved the "burned out" starters problem, as Tomko was able to go for 8 innings, and threw 111 pitches. Here's another short summary.

Code:
	R H E
LA	7 14 0
SF 3 11 2

IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	PITCHES
Brad Penny	7.0	10	3	3	3	8	1	91
Yhency Braozban	1.0	0	0	0	0	1	0	10
Eric Gagne	1.0	1	0	0	0	1	0	8

Brett Tomko	8.0	10	4	2	1	5	0	111
Jeff Fassero	1.0	4	3	3	0	0	1	13
As you can see I got in a heap of trouble when I brought in Fassero, as I wasn't careful enough in hitting my spots and paid for it. I also committed two errors which wound up hurting me as well. Once again the CPU pitch count was just plain awesome, 91 pitches through 7 innings, and my pitch count was spot on also.

Excellent work Jistic.

That's awesome, but could you tell me if you're using version 1 or 2? Thanks!

Using Version 1

Game Recap:

(Me)Angels 3, Mariners 0

---- 123 456 789 R H E
ANA 200 000 001 3 8 0
SEA 000 000 000 0 4 1

2B - ANA Cabrera
3B - SEA Ichiro
HR - ANA Guerrero
RBI - ANA Guerrero(2) (Third run scored on a double play in the 9th)
SB - ANA Figgins, SEA Winn
CS - ANA Quinlan (Pick Off)
E - SEA Boone

Pitching---- IP H ER BB SO (Pitches)
ANA
Escobar(W) 8.1 4 0 2 6 (92 Pitches)
Rodriguez(S) .2 0 0 0 0 (NA)
SEA
---- Moyer(L) 7 5 2 3 5 (96 Pitches)
---- Mateo 2 3 1 0 1 (NA)

***Notes

* 4 out of 5 of Moyers K's came against lefties,
just like in real life soft tossing lefties always kill Angel hitters.

* Vlad's Homer in the 1st inning came on a 3-1 count, on a hanging curve
hit into the Mariners bullpen.

Overall great sliders, fielding is great(not always perfects throws - first
baseman needs to adjust to ball), hitting and pitching is fun and feels real.

Thanks for the time and effort put into the sliders,
its much appreciated and you just made this game 10 times better in my eyes.

Dam, I am honored by your first post.

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

You know, Jistic, I do think that the batters for the other team swing too much. They're really impatient for me, at least.

They'll swing at first pitches, and at breaking balls that are not questionable at all... maybe it's just my perception...

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

Awesome, awesome sliders man (I used V.2). You and I must have very similar play styles, since these worked out much better than others I have tried (sorry Pared, although I like your sliders too. )
I lost to Boston as San Fran.
BOS 4 - 10 - 0
SF 2 - 6 - 1

I think the only real small problem I had was that the computer got 1 or 2 too many chippy singles, although they're a good hitting team so it's understandable. I think I'm not good enough yet for manual fielding, as I let two really hard grounders through to the wall for doubles and blew a fairly routine warning track fly that I thought I needed to dive for and completely missed. But I also saw a nice bounce on a ground rule double by them and I hit a triple with Grissom.
That no vibration pitching is the way this game should be played!!!

Bonds hit a solo shot in his first at bat, and was IBBed two times.

Schmidt 7IP - 7H - 3R - 3ER - 3BB - 4K - 105pitches
Brower 1IP - 2H - 1R - 1ER - 0BB - 2K
Christianson 1IP - 1H - 0R - 0ER - 0BB - 1K

Miller 6IP - 3H - 1R - 1ER - 5BB - 6K - 83pitches
Mantei 1IP - 1H - 0R - 0ER - 1BB - 1K
Timlin 1IP - 2H - 1R - 1ER - 1BB - 1K
Foulke 1IP - 0H - 0R - 0ER - 1BB - 1K

Re: Jistics 2005 MVP All-Star Sliders

I like the sliders too....even though I can't seem to win. I am having problems hitting...but I think its for me than the sliders.

One thing that troubles me....the cpu has yet to try and steal a bag. I am thru 4 season games and neither the Red Sox or Orioles have even attempted a steal.

What is the steal rate for you guys?
