Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

    Hey All:

My name is Andrew, and I am a avid player and am completely obssesed with MVP Baseball2005. I will fill you in on all things that are going on in my owner mode such as stats, records, trades, finacial bussiness and lots more. I will be playing with the NYM; however, I will trade all players on the team for young cheap prospects in order to maximize profits! . Updates to be posted later guys! Happy Reading!

Re: Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

It took me from 6:00 to 11:25 to completely overhaul all my farm teams and my MLB team completely, and i am now finnaly done!. Was well worth it though guys! For my Single A and Double AA teams nobody is making more than 100,000 a year. I mean literally nobody is making more than 100,000 per year. However, I didn't sacrifice the skill level and the rank of my A team compared to other A teams. My A Team stands at a respectable 8th spot, and my AA team stands at 14th, respectively. Also, Nobody on my A or AA team is unhappy about contracts, so both Team Chemistries are at about 80%! Here are each of the four categories for my A and AA, and how I rank in each:

    A Mets:
    Pitching - 27th
    Hitting - 5th
    Fielding - 1st
    Baserunning - 1st

    AA Mets:
    Pitching - 26th
    Hitting - 11th
    Fielding - 3rd
    Baserunning - 3rd

*Obviously Pitching rank for both clubs are not that great. I am content with the hitting for both, and very pleased with fielding and baserunning for both! I am 100% done with making my rosters for both the A and AA teams. Batting orders and pithcing rotations have been completed for both. Hopefully pitching will hold.

**I will Post AAA and MLB current rankings in a later update.

***Guys happy reading, and please feel free to comment or if you have advice or if you want to share stories of your owner mode!

    ~See you then! - Andrew

Re: Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

        Hey Hitstreak:
Good to hear from you man! Thanks btw you are too kind! I am anxious to read more about your own season as well! Btw, do you have a name or u want me to refer to you as Hitstreak?

As for my AAA and MLB team, there are numerous players making more than 100,000 a year. My AAA average per year is 500,000. My MLB average per year is 1.00 M per year. However, these averages do not effect me at all finacially, due to my total overhaul of my A and AA players and their contracts. Once Again, I traded all my players on my AAA team and my MLB team for young, cheaper talent. I did not sacrifice skill level or team chemistry for my AAA team. Team chemistry is at about 75 %. However, while my MLB Mets do indeed have a solid young core, beacuse of their young age and unproven abilities my MLB team is ranked 30th overall. My AAA team is ranked at a respectable 9th. Here is how i stand in each four categories for both my AAA team and my MLB team:

        AAA

        Pitching - 26th
        Batting - 5th
        Fielding - 1st
        Baserunning - 1st

        MLB

        Pitching - 30th
        Batting - 30th
        Fielding - 16th
        Baserunning - 21st

*I am pleased once again with the fielding and baserunning of my AAA team, and am very content with batting. Once again though like my A and AA teams Pitching is not to great! My MLB team is another story though! . Pitching and Batting are at the worst spot, 30th. I am content with fielding and baserunning. I do believe my Batting rank is underated though, I believe it should be lower 20's. We will see how pitching holds.

**Here is a quick stat of the average age of of each of my 4 teams:

        A - 22
        AA - 21
        AAA - 23
        MLB - 22

***Like I said earlier, very young core for all teams! Hitstreak and future readers I will post updates such as batting orders and pitching rotations soon. After that, I will get my season underway!

        ~ Andrew

          Hey Hitstreak:
What level of difficulty do you play on?

Hey all, before I give you guys my starting
          lineup(s) I thought I should mention a few things:

          1. I will not be simming any of my MLB games. I am one who likes to gain the stats with the computer! However, I will be simming most of my A, AA, AAA games.
          2. My Stadium I named Prospect Field, wihich I built in the city, with a symetrical fence, green grass, and dirt - just to give you guys a general idea of what my stadium looks like.
          3. I will try to give you guys the most in - depth postgame stats.
          4. Every 20 MLB Games I will give you guys the most in depth player stats for my team. This would include team leaders in certain categories, individual stats such as AVG., RBI's, Runs, Hits ETC. you guys get the picture. Same with pitchers - ERA., W - L, K's ETC. . Next Update will be Lineups!

Re: Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

              Hey Hitstreak & Readers:
My Season opener... I won! At the Reds I won 4 - 1! Back to back HR's in the top of the 4th by cleanup hitting Barnes and Kram powered the Mets to an early 2 - 0 lead! Darryl Buhler only pitched 2.0 innings beacuse his stamina is a huge issue. However, he got all the outs himself by striking out 6 in 2.0 innings pitched. The 3rd to 6th inning was pitched by MRP Chris Ponson, who pitched 4.0 quality innings while giving up no runs on 4 hits and striking out six, who also picked up the win. The Reds offense was non - existant until the 7th, when LRP Pat Lidge gave up the only run, a HR to Sean Casey, who just got it over the left field fence. SU man Jason Ginter came into the 8th and sat down the side in order, recording 1 K. Top 9th, with a 2 - 1 lead, 1B Andy Bako gave more breathing room by hitting a 2 run - HR, to make it a 4 - 1 ballgame.
Bottom ninth, with a comfortable 4 - 1 lead, my closer Vincent Durazo came in and sat down the side in order picking up the save.

              W: Ponson (1 - 0)
              S: Durazo (1)

*All in all, a positive way to start the season, pitching was a wonderful surprise, other than Buhler's stamina issue, and bats were just existant enough to pick up the win!

              Final Score:

              NYM - 4
              CIN - 1

**To fill you guys in on my finacial side of things, I have 1.1 million in the bank and more money is flowing into the bank every day, even at away games! Game 2 of the series update soon!

Re: Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

                Hello there Adrian & Readers:
Game 2 of the series did not go nearly as smooth as the first, however and late rally capped a seond consecutive win over the Reds! I had Randy Auschrat on the hill for me, who had a tough outing. Top 1 was good for me, as SS Matt Derksen worked a walk off Eric Milton, which was immediately followed by a bomb by Duaner Casey into the right field seats! Going into the bot. 1st, Randy allowed back to back doubles giving the Reds a run. After the doubles he settled and ended the inning be retiring three straight. bot. 2nd, HR's by Casey and Griffey Jr. gave the Reds the lead 3 - 1. In the bot. 4th, a HR was hit by Jimenez, making it a 4 - 2 game. Finnaly, I scored a run in the top 5th with a few singles. In the bot. 5th, another HR was hit by Griffey Jr, making it 5 - 2. A rare 1 - 2 - 3 6th inning would be Auschrat's last inning. He ended his night allowing 12 hits, 5 ER, 2 K's, a 7.50 ERA., and a .414 AVG allowed to the Reds. Top 7th Derksen singled, which was followed by a walk by Casey. Next up, CF Steve Brassard hit a three run HR to tie the game at 5 a piece! Bot. 7th was pitched by LRP Erik Phillips, who sat down the side in order. The Amazins' scored again in the top 8th of a triple by 3B Brett Mercker! Bot. 8th was pitched by SU Jason Ginter who allowed only 1 hit, no runs. Top 9th 2B Duaner Casey singled in SS Matt Derksen to make it a 8 - 5 comeback lead! Closer Vincent Durazo came in and allowed 1 hit, no runs picking up his second save in 2 tries! Somehow, Randy Auschrat ended up getting the win, along with Durazo, the save.

                W: Auschrat (1 - 0)
                S: Durazo (2)

*Poor outing by SP Auschrat was luckilly backed up by fine performances from the offense with HR contributions from Brassard and Casey. However, late rally allows Mets to obtain victory.

                Final Score:

                NYM - 8
                CIN - 5

**INJURY REPORT: Power Slugging Brad Barnes was injured in today's game going sliding into a base headfirst, fracturing his index finger. He will be out for 19 days, and I have placed him on the 15 - Day DL.
Not good at all guys! This guy has the best power on the team and is a HR hitter! Thankfully it's only 2 1/2 weeks! I recalled AAA RF Tony Blair to take his spot while he is on the DL! Next update for the series ending game to come tommorow.
Please feel free to comment on anything from today's game, any questions or comments will be appreciated greatly!

***Hey Adrian what you think so far about my owner mode? I hope I am in depth enough for the readers & you. Also, how's your updates/games going on yours?

                  Hey Andrew,

I use MVP as my difficulty level and have tweaked my own sliders throughout the years to get what I want. However, I have a unique way of doing my sliders. If I play at home (slight hitters park) I will tweak the sliders to slightly favor hitters. If I play at a park like San Diego, I will increase pitcher effectiveness and decrease hitting sliders. I hit HR's like crazy when playing in stadiums in Texas, Cincinnati, and Coors field. Conversely, I can't hit at PETCO park like in real life. I haven't had time to play but am enjoying reading your franchise man. I will try to get an update by Saturday.

                      Hey there Adrian and mchecky:

*Firstly, I just wanted to say thanks guys! I am very happy that you guys think things are looking good, it makes me want to continue updating!. Also Adrian I too play MVP difficulty, without touching the sliders. I think I am getting very lucky though in MVP difficulty mode!

The final game of the 3 - game series VS the Reds was close, almost like game two! On the mound for the series closer I had Ole Uttuslien, who had a comparable outing to Randy Auschrat's. Ole went 6.0 innings, allowed 11 hits, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 K's, and ended with a 4.50 ERA.

Top. 2nd, just recalled RF Tony Blair proves his worth by hitting a HR making it 1 - 0, Mets. Mets strike again in the top. 3rd, SS Matt Derksen goes yard making 2 - 0. Ole Uttuslien was looking good until the bot. 4th, where he allowed 2 singles followed by a Willy Mo Pena 3 - run HR, making it 3 - 2 Reds! In the bot. 5th, a poor advised throw by 1B Andy Bako allowed a runner to score, making it now 4 - 2 Reds! Finnaly Mets bats come alive in the top. 6th, where LF Brad Kram hits a HR to left making it a close 4 - 3 game. Bot. 6th would be Ole's last inning, as he amazingly sits down the side 1 - 2 - 3! Bot. 7th was pitchrf by LRP Pat Lidge, who gave up no runs on 1 hit. Going to the top. 8th, 3B Brett Mercker hits a deep double right down the RF line, bringing in Blair, along with pushing Kram to third base! Score all tied at 4! With LRP Pat Lidge up next, I call for a pinch - hitter. I called on Duane Kuiper, the switch - hitting second baseman. 1st pitch swinging by Kuiper single to center! Kram and Mercker both score, giving the Mets a comeback lead in the 8th to make it 6 - 4!
Once again I brought in the reliable SU man Jason Ginter, who had some trouble, giving up two hits but allowing no runs. Here we go, bot. 9th, I bring in closer Vincent Durazo, who is going for his third straight save in the first three games! Durazo sits down the side in order, also while picking up a K! Ironically, the last three batters were Casey, Dunn, Griffey - the team's power bats! However, they are all lefty, and i had Durazo who is a lefty pitcher!! Series sweep for the NYM! Ultimately, LRP Pat Lidge got the win, and CL Vincent Durazo the save, his third.
Another rally late capped by another Mets victory! Let's see how long I can ride this winning streak!

                      W: Pat Lidge (1 - 0)
                      S: Vincent Durazo (3)

**Recalled RF Tony Blair did a fine job in spot for injured Barnes, picking up two hits, 1 HR, 2 runs and a SB! Good hitting and luck allowed for the sweep!

***Once again all readers, I hope you are enjoying my updates! Don't hesitate to comment on anything on today's game or ask questions! I will return them within 24 hours! Next update later today as the Mets try for four in a row!

Re: Going To Start Up New Owner Mode Soon:

                        Hello Adrian, Mchecky & Readers:

*Coming of a series sweep of the Reds, the Mets (3 - 0) were feeling pretty good, starting the season with a sweep! The Mets started a new series against the Braves (1 - 1), at Turner Field.

The Mets were quick to start the game, when SS Matt Derksen worked a walk, following an immediate steal of second. After 2B Duaner Casey struck out, recently recalled RF Tony Blair shines again, lining a single to right field scoring the speedy Derksen.. ATL was quick to strike back though, when back to back doubles were hit of game's starter RHP Bobby Bath to score a run. Going into the bot. 3rd, 2 straight singles were hit, followed by a 3 - run HR by the ageless 1B Julio Franco. Now to the eighth, LRP Erik Phillips replaces MRP Chris Ponson, who allowed 3 hits no runs in 3.0 innings pitched. Phillips immediately gets rocked by back to back HR's by Andruw Jones & Chipper Jones, making it 6 - 1. He would retire the next three in order. In the top. 9th, the Mets tried to mount a comeback but fell short. Two runners were on base for struggling
C Ghafouri, with two outs. He hit a pop fly to SS Furcal to end the game. . Braves win 6 - 1.

                        W: Thompson
                        L: Bath

**Well, I finnaly had to lose right? Reality caught up with my pitching. With this loss, I am tied for 1st with the Marlins, who are also (3 - 1). Mets bats were non - existant tonight, only getting 6 singles.

                        Final Score:

                        NYM - 1
                        ATL - 6

***My pitching's biggest problem is stamina. After today's game, i designated RHP Bobby Bath & LRP Erik Phillips because they both have very low stamina. Bath's stamina is 46, which is far too low. To replace his spot in the rotation, I brought up LHP Hirsoshi Yoshida, who boasts a stamina level of 69. In LRP Erik Phillips place I brought up starter - turned long relief RHP Johny Snare. Hopefully these pitching changes will help my stamina issues!

****Also finacially, I now have 2.03 in the bank, so things are looking good in that category!

***** Once again all readers, I hope you are enjoying my updates! Don't hesitate to comment on anything on today's game or ask questions! I will return them within 24 hours! Next update soon as Mets try to take game 2 from the Braves!

                        ~Andrew

                          Hey Adrian, Mchecky & Readers:

I got 5 games in from the last update. Game two VS ATL i lost 19 - 5. Yes, 19 - 5. My pitching got rocked all night. Not too much to say here. Series finale i lost again 4 - 2. After sweeping the Reds to open the season, I get swept by the Braves. Next series I faced the Astros, at my stadium Prospect Field. My home opener, i had a surprising 16,000 people in attendance. Game impact was only 1/10, so i was shocked! However, I lost in a close contested game 4 - 3.
Next game I lost again 2 - 1. A few tough losses here guys! The series finale I had 18,000 people!
And i did not let down my biggest crowd yet, ending a 5 game losing skid. Recently recalled LHP Yoshida shined through his first start going 6.0 innings, allowing 4 hits on 1 ER, while striking out 1. The 7th was pitched by LRP Pat Lidge, who allowed 1 hit which was a HR to Berkman, making it 7 - 2 Mets. Beacuse of the lead, I opted to keep Lidge in for the 8th and 9th as well.

Here's a look at the standings in the NL East:

                          ATL - (6 - 4)
                          FLA - (5 - 4)
                          PHI - (5 - 4)
                          WAS - (5 - 5)
                          NYM - (4 - 5)

*A five game losing skid hurt me, putting me in last place in my division. However, I am only 1.5 GB ATL.

**Finacially, I have 2.87 M in the bank, after purchasing more promotional days and level 1 HR celebrations for my stadium.

***Sorry how all these games were bunched up into 1 update guys. I went on a playing spree and forgot to update.. I'll try to keep it to 1 game per update, with the same amount of details as the first game.

****Next update later today as the Mets try to gain ground on the Braves.
Remember guys, after 20 games I will give you full sypnosis on all my players.

~ Sorry guys about the bunched update.
                          Andrew

Hello again Adrian, Mchecky & Readers:

*Firstly just wanted to thank all for coming to check my updates! It means a lot to me even though my Mets are collapsing! .

My Mets (4 - 5), coming of a win VS HOU beag a three game series homestand VS Marlins (5 - 4).
Game impact is 3/10. On the hill i had struggling LHP Jared Wilson (0 - 1), (3.0 IP, 1 K, 1 L, 24.00 ERA). The Marlins had RHP E. Loaiza, who is (0 - 1), with an ERA of 4.50.

Wilson's trouble beagan immediately, no surprise here. Top. 1st a 3 - run HR was hit by Conine. Few batters later Encarnacion hit a 2 - run HR as well. Top. 2nd, Grand Slam by Lowell. 9 - 0 FLA. A few more solo HR's and doubles back to back would plague the Mets throughout the game. Thankfully, the 9th inning finnaly came, and it was over. Mets got hammered 16 - 0. Mets offense was non - existant again getting only 3 singles.

                            W: Loaiza (1 -1)
                            L: Wilson (0 - 2) 30.46 ERA.

**LHP Wilson, and MRP Snare both got rocked... again. Pitching is a problem, and bats are doing little of late.

                            Final Score:

                            FLA - 16
                            NYM - 0

***I have 3.03 M in the bank just to fill you guys in there. Fan happiness is 3/5, and NYM chemistry is at 65% and dropping..

                            ****Injury Report
3B Brett Mercker jammed his pinkie and will be out for 5 days.
Not to big of a deal.

*****Beacuse starter LHP Jared Wilson is struggling to say the least along with MRP Johny Snare i designated them both for LHP H. Choi and MRP Brandon Leauge. Maybe they will perform better... I hope. Update soon guys as the Mets try to rebound... now 2 GB ATL.

                            ~ Andrew

                              Hey Adrian, Mchecky & Readers:

Game 2 of the series VS the Marlins was pitched by Mets ace RHP Darryl Buhler (0 - 0) (7.0 IP, 5 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K's, ERA 0.00). The Marlins also had their ace, Beckett on the mound. . I really needed Buhler to put a stop to the losses.

Bot. 1, SS Matt Derksen works the walk, followed by a steal of second. A few batters later, RF Tony Blair singles to score Derksen. 1 - 0 NYM.
Top. 3, Buhler allows a solo shot by Mclemore.
(God I can't believe he is still around ). Bot. 3rd Mets strike back though, with a solo shot by LF Brad Kram. Bot. 5th 2B Duaner Casey goes yard on yet another solo shot, making it 3 - 1 Mets. Buhler was exactly what I hoped for, going 6.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, and 1 K. The top. 7th was pitched by MRP Chris Ponson, who sat down the side 1 -2 -3. The top. 8th by SU Jason Ginter, who gave up only 1 hit, no runs. The top 9th. by closer Vincent Durazo, who converted his 4th save in 4 tries!

                              W: Ponson (2- 1)
                              L: Beckett (1 -1)
                              S: Durazo (4)

*RHP Buhler was exactly what I needed, and bats were hot early on getting three runs.

                              Final Score:

                              FLA - 1
                              NYM - 3

**With this win, I am 2 GB the Braves, with a record of 5 - 6. Not too bad. Finacially, I have 3.36 M in the bank, and A- rating.

                              Top AAA Player:
                              C Mark Gage - 36 AB's, 13 hits, .362 AVG, 3 RBI's, 1 run.

***Next update soon, as the Mets try to win the series at home.
