Arrow Lockdown Defender on Big Men

If i put the LDD sig skill on a C/PF, would it help stop them from getting posterized so much? Would it cancel out the posterizer sig skill that LeBron, MJ, and Dominique have?

Re: Lockdown Defender on Big Men

I think it only affects the opposing position. For example, say your center matchup is Hakeem vs Shaq and you put LDD on Hakeem. That will take Shaq's sig skills away, not the other players on Shaq's team.

I may be wrong, but either way you're taking someone's signature skills away.

Re: Lockdown Defender on Big Men

The lockdown defender skill doesn't work in off-ball situations. You have to be close up on the ball handler, in "intense D" position. You will know that you're within range when your defender's circle icon flashes red. The lockdown skill also activates whenever you're being backed down in the post.

So if you want to stop guards and forwards from posterizing you, you'll need to give the lockdown skill to whomever is guarding Jordan, Dr. J, et al. Help defenders aren't going to stop a posterizer dunk from happening.

Also keep in mind that the posterizer animation can't happen if the dunker is below 80% stamina. So try to tire those guys out to keep them from dunking all over your team.

And if you want to see exactly when lockdown defender does/doesn't activate, you can always go into practice mode with someone who has the skill and press up on the d-pad to keep the signature skills screen viewable.

It prevents the energy boost but not the dunk.

If you help early enough it activates but if the player is dunking over you it doesn't light up since you're most likely too late.

Wait, really? Where does this info come from? If LDD only activates for the resapective position, it will be pretty much useless for those playing a zone defense? In 2ks description it says "for the player you are actively guarding"... Always wondered what that could mean and if thats only for on ball defense...

I really hope posterizer gets taken out of the game next year or nerfed to like 95% stamina. Its way too cheesy

It's still worth it in the final minutes when Jordan tries a contact layup, I've had Ewing shut him down several times.
