This will happen almost every time. It happened to me with Onyx Kobe. This time around, the code actually worked the very first time I entered it, but the quantity had already been reached. So don't feel bad, because even if the code had worked on your first attempt, you most likely wouldn't have gotten anything.

We pretty much have to expect not to get anything with these codes, and if/when we ever do, we must celebrate like this:

I've been waiting since Christmas for these thanks to some low-life hackers. I was ready. I saw the code as soon as it came up on Twitter. And as my finger hit submit on the 2K app, I realized that I didn't capitalize the last letter of the code. Code invalid.

Freaking classic.

Don't let it bother you. Had those letters been uppercase, you probably would've just gotten the "quantity reached" message instead.
