What's the best way to start?

I got a ps4 and 2k for Christmas and have been playing mycareer and my GM. I started MyTeam today and was wondering the best way to start strategy wise. So far I've got to the Pistons in domination and the 7th seed in RTP. I opened 1 pack (just the green league pass pack) and got Mike Conley. I also got Al Horford off the auction block for 1,500 MT. I did the Hawks starter pack at the beginning so for now I'm going to try to beat domination and complete some collections. Is that the bets way to go about it?

Domination is definitely the best way. And if I were you, I'd sell Conley since he's a valuable silver and buy a cheaper gold who is a better player. You can get 7k for Conley, which allows you to get a gold such as Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, John Wall, etc.

He won't be able to use golds for a few seeds though.

True, it kind of depends on if you need more gold cards to advance to the next stage of domination. Advancing through domination is probably the best way to start since it gives plenty of silver and gold cards.

I recommend going all the way through domination before you even hop on road to the playoffs.

You should get a decent number of gold cards from finishing domination.

I ended up with:

Chris Paul
Monta Ellis
Paul George
Blake Griffin
Anthony Davis
Al Jefferson
DeMarcus Cousins

Plus a few other silver guys that fill out my bench.

Re: What's the best way to start?

I played a few rounds of domination then mix it up with the road to the playoffs.

domination is great to get your team (all bronze with 1 silver) master their releases and figure out how you want to play.

my strategy was get a good silver PG. I defend the point mostly, and they're the guys setting the table, so you want one you like the release of and one who can get into the paint or pull up. Marcus Smart was the guy I settle on. Kobe's release, and plays like DWade (useless 3pt rating but will knock down wide open looks even without a green release).

Next up was a rim protecting Center (Gobert, Will Purdue & Nursic (the Nuggets 1st round pick this year?)

You need to pack the paint because lotsa guys online want to run and dunk on you.

Then for my style of play I got a few stretch 4's you can sub in and out with. Antic, Luer Teletovic.

I went for the best 3 & D guy at SF I could find at bronze level. The guy I got is a gem and plays 10 times above his ratings. I feel if I started telling everyone about him, it'd come to bite me. Hard. haha

And some specialist long range guys at SG to space the floor. Karesev is a super nifty lefty that pulls up or gets into the paint and can dunk hard on the transition. Tony Daniels and Buechler (classi bulls team) rounded out my squad.

you can protect the rim, drive and kick, space the floor and put up points in a hurry with my squad.

In saying that I'm still only 10-9 since I started. haha ... but i'm having fun!!

Play Domination and don't bother with Onlineplay.

Re: What's the best way to start?

Domination and mix in some challenges where you can meet the requirements. Like the other guy said...sell Conley and get 2 golds for that price now.

I would get Lowry and Millsap. They are the best golds for the price hands down. As you win, you will add another silver or gold to your lineup. Also, grab some cheap bronze players for 500MT. The easiest useful player to get is Dwayne Dedmon. For whatever reason....he rebounds like gold players on this game. The best bronzes may be a lil harder to get for 500 but you can find them....Ray Mac, Derrick Williams, Gobert, Morrow, Daniels, etc...there are some great historic bronzes but they are a lil more rare...like Scott Williams, Jud Buechler, Ostertag. Silver players are cheap and the easiest way to build great team. Get cheap defenders that can shoot like Jeff Taylor/Thabo.
