How is everyone getting throwback players?

I took a 6 week hiatus from My Team until recently. I'm going through RTTP, and I've noticed that in most games, each opponent has multiple throwback players - Garnett, Ray Allen, Kobe, etc.

How are these so wide spread? Because by looking at the packs that hold them, they're still pretty expensive. So, how are people doing it?

MT exploit and guys like KG are pretty cheap anyway.

Throwback players? As in Onyx cards? The KG one isn't out yet. Lots of the Onxy players available can be had for less than 10K or a little more now. AK47, Brand, Linsanity, Oden, K-Mart, D-West, Monta, Dre, Rashard Lewis, off the top of my head

onyx, as well as things like hakeem, ruby kobe, etc..

Well, during your 6 week hiatus, they released the all time scoring Ruby packs which account for the ruby cards you mentioned. Plus, Onyx packs are every Thursday and players from the previous weeks are still available in those packs which drives the price down for the older, more common Onyx cards. Some are still a little more rare so their prices are higher, but with more and more people farming MT, they are becoming more common during games because people have more MT to spend and what seemed like expensive players before are more attainable.
