Controller settings?

I set these and they are often reset. Do they get reset on updates or do they get reset every time you play online? I always forget to check them when playing an online game but think thats the last thing I did before starting a weekly challenge. Its confusing thinking its on absolute or help defense but its been reset.

you need to change it in the main menu: If you change them during a game it will not be saved.

I have changed it in the main menu. Its been saved before. I just cant figure out what resets it.

it resets rqurarly and I check it in every first play of the game.
