I don't mind off ball D much

Because I usually just play one position on D each possesion. Usually pg. You want to dribble around with your 2/3 I'm not gonna chase you around each position.

But it drives me crazy when ppl switch constantly switch away to avoid having to gaurd someone. They click on SG I pass to SG. Then they click to sf. Pass to sf. Then the click to pg. Pass to pg. Like I get the lag argument, but are you really THAT scared to play D on one possession?

Pretty sure I read a dev on here said if you play on ball d your defense is improved over just letting the cpu play it. If thats the case I dont see the problem with it.

I don't care anymore after this patch, because if you play off-ball you will get roasted.

unless you play mypark a lot or something of that nature, its gonna be really really hard to grasp on-ball D. The lag is absolutely awful.

The higher that setting is the worse the animations you get, so it becomes more like off-ball. Still you need it above 0 online, the lag is just killing you otherwise.

My initial reaction after the patch was that on ball defense had improved. Now, i'm not so sure anymore. I played two games earlier where my opponent was zigzagging like crazy, before the patch i could deal with that nonsense for the most part but now the controls seemed extremely sensitive and my guy simply ended up running all over the place. Maybe it was just extra laggy or something.

Anyway, i still get annoyed by off ball "defenders" but i agree that it's a lot less effective than in years past. It depends what kind of off ball "defense" they play though. If it's simply controlling the center or switching defenders when you pass to the guy they were defending, that's easy to beat. Zone with a free safety running around still gets on my nerves though. Especially because of some of the slow pass/catch animations, i can find teammates for open looks but obviously the zone will catch up if it takes 2 or 3 seconds to complete a pass.

I can hardly play RTTP. Half of the games just stop and start. Unlike all the other games, I enjoy the single player so it's not a deal breaker.
