They change color, but sometimes 2K makes the silly mistake of updating their numerical ratings without updating their color tier rating. So, for a period, you can have an 81 OVR Silver. Ultimately, everything should be corrected at some point.
Which kills the attraction of a lot of Dynamics. For example, Iguodala went from a 77 Silver to an 80 Gold. Would use to play him in restricted games when I wanted an athletic, lock-down defender in at SF. But why would I play his Gold Dynamic when, instead, I can play Kawhi, Butler, or George?

Exactly...that's why I sorta thought they would stay the same color.
All of the sudden a highly valued Silver card becomes a low-value Gold with numerous better alternatives.
What is the point in that?
If anything, it's a punishment and takes away value of Dynamic cards that are close to going up. Dynamic cards that go down actually have more value.
I can see it both ways though...for example, if a low rated Gold goes down to Silver, that card's value increases.
