Couldn't seem to find the latter badged up for ~80k. Seems like he's kind of rare on the block. Do you think Payton is a better shooter than McGrady? T-Mac to me seems to have that IT scoring factor which I love, allowing him to take shots beyond his 76 3pt rating (and he's definitely superior in the mid range). Probably the personality badges. I have Westbrook as my backup PG to tackle any John Walls (and can then slot T-Mac to SG if he's on fire). I would like to get DPOY Payton as a PG/SG depth guy eventually though.

Great points about fit though. I think I use him just as much as an off-ball guy, and I love to have a team of good to great passers/dimers added on. I run a lot of flex type offense with off-ball screening (flow, 7 seconds or less, warriors/hawks).
T-Mac is definitely the better shooter. Regular Payton is almost the same card minus 33 steal, if you can get him he's a good bench guy, too.

man, I wouldn't sweat that nonsense....u good bruh...

T-Mac has played PG. its just that the Rockets he was listed as SG/SF. but his Magic card is listed as SG/PG. so you can't play him at PG because he didn't log enough minutes at the position that year? that argument is silly.

Re: Rockets T-Mac

First off, my ps4 broke down and had to wait 3 weeks for the replacement. Seeing the all star packs released was not fair considering I didn't have a system haha. Despite getting my system back just a couple days ago I made some pick ups but still can't turn my back on this explosive gold card. All things considered here's my review!

I must say, I'm happy to see Rockets T-Mac getting the love he truly deserves on this forum. He's not an amethyst, not a deep range threat consistently, and sells for only 60-80k at the moment on ps4. His value has dipped and quite frankly I'm happy because it keeps this OP card out of my opponents rotation haha.

Offense:
T-Mac is by far the best (SG/SF) that can play PG IMO. He's fast, great passer, great in transition, quality defender and his length at the position is a no brainer. I tend to have him come off my bench since all the other players are defensive specialist (DPOY Kawhi, DPOY Payton, AD, and DPOY Mutombo). Mind you, my T-Mac is fully badged up and he plays way BETTER than his ratings suggest. His 3 ball is money from the corner and when he's hot you can't STOP him. One opponent kept double teaming on the perimeter when he would catch the ball but that was a lost cause. His dribble animations and accurate passing made it easy for me to shred the double team that was presented. Dimer and P&R Maestro will make playing PG with him a breeze. As for attacking he gets to the rim at will, his explosiveness is scary for his size and stopping him will take a defensive specialist with "stick skill". Average to sub par defending will not cut it. On offense he plays like an amethyst. Period.

Defense:
He comes with defensive anchor and gets a ton of blocks for me. His athleticism is amazing for the SG spot and just as useful in the PG spot. I can keep up with the Wallbrooks easily and all of them have bad games matched up against T-Mac. Again, all gold badges for him in the defensive department is a wise choice. Eraser is one I added to him and find it to be very useful.

Overall T-Mac is a monster! At his current price he's a steal. I love this card and might be the last card I have of him since the diamond version will be too expensive for me when it drops.

P.s. Didn't mean to hijack the thread but creating another topic seemed pointless. I'm just happy I was able to get this review out to you guys since I promised it in my Moncrief write-up.

Re: Rockets T-Mac

I picked up Rockets TMac last night and absolutely love him. I had the Raptors TMac and decided to upgrade. I did an overhaul of my starting lineup last night, and I can't see TMac losing his spot at SG. I echo all of the things being said about him.

Skywalker is the better finisher and a little more athletic, but T-Mac is as good or better in all other aspects of the game. The big difference between the two is T-Mac's elite badges, while Skywalker only has 7 + Volume Shooter. Skywalker is still a really good card though.

I have both and I think TMac is a better player. David Thompsons height is quite a weakness as is he's 3pt game.

Tmac is a fantastic all rounder. He can create offense with his dribble moves and can shoot mid-range off the dribble or take turnaround fades from the elbows. He can run the pick and roll really well. He is also dangerous in the open floor and can finish really well as he is very athletic.

Great thing is you can use tmac on any mode restricting you from using amethyst.

Re: Rockets T-Mac

How is he as a pg? I was using him in my lineup as a sg before I get mitch, he was great slasher but with wall / Tracy / LBJ I was lacking in perimeter shooting. His playmaking skills and speed don't look that high for a pg
