The Request a Review of a Player Thread
Recently I sold my AS CP3 and picked up a fully badged Lowry and Biyombo playoff cards. Love repping my home team so I decided to pick up some new Raptor cards. I had Derozan before but sold him when I heard playoff Wade was coming, I plan to buy him back soon though since I have playoff Powell and JV.
I have no regrets after selling AS CP3 because Biyombo and Lowry have made significant upgrades to my defense, rebounding and shooting. Biyombo is a beast on the boards and does a wonderful job protecting the rim. I found him to be a WAY better rim protector and rebounder than Diamond Kareem. I gave him a +9 vertical shoe and he wreaks a lot of havoc. People call him a poor mans Mutombo but I disagree. He's quite mobile and his athleticism allows him to grab rebounds over bigger players; kind of reminds me of Bill Russell's tenacity on the boards. Biyombo is a specialist and that's it. He can't shoot, ball control is terrible, and has no post offense. Most of his buckets come from hustle points, transition opportunities, Pick & Roll plays, and posterizers. He also has 98 hands so catching the ball will not be a problem on either end. Again, he's a specialist and that's it! I have diamond Draymond at PF so Biyombo's lackluster perimeter d doesn't get exploited. Even during pick and roll plays, I have Draymond cutting off passing lanes and contesting shots. Biyombo is a must have for die hard Raptor fans or theme teams. Compared to playoff JV, I would choose Biyombo every time. He's a grinder!
Playoff Lowry plays so much better than AS CP3 for me. First and foremost, his player model is intimidating for his size. He finishes well and can defend multiple positions. Few games Lowry was defending Diamond PG13, MVP Kobe, and TBT Lebron. He wasn't exceptional at guarding them but he did a great job containing them, it was quite shocking to see. He also gets a lot of steals and averaged the same amount CP3 would get. Attacking with Lowry is fun too since his layup animations rarely get blocked. He gets to the line at will and has an easy release. His floaters are money, and he finishes very well over the Wallbrooks. If you take smart shots with lowry, you will be rewarded. His jumper takes a little getting used to but damn, once you master it, he's lights out. His release is QUICK and greens are frequent. His jumper is so much quicker than AS CP3s. I have pulled off many step backs and crossover animations over taller defender and he converts his jumpers at a high percentage. He's also athletic so drive and kick is effective. His only downside on offense is his height and the inability to dunk the basketball, besides that he's solid. I have put him in my starting lineup over Playoff Lillard and he's done a great job thus far. I highly recommend surrounding him around shooters and cutters along with an athletic C.
Overall AS CP3 is still an amazing player but Lowry can give you just as much production at a cheaper cost. I bought Lowry fully badged for 28k and CP3 fully badged goes for 50-60k. Even though I downgraded stat wise, Lowry has been competing at the same level but better animation wise IMO. I also play better defensively with Lowry as well. Could be that his reaction time is 92 compared to CP3s 78. Stat wise AS CP3 is better on defense but I didn't see much disparity gameplay wise IMO.
