Scoring in the paint frequency?

I remember back in older 2Ks if you pump faked too many times, you would get called for a travel.

Not sure why they took it out tbh.

I rarely see it happens. In fact I get called for traveling doing jab steps out of the triple threat than spamming pump fakes.

Spamming pumps is a big part of one of my friends offense and he gets called for traveling from time to time. It probably should be call more frequent.

It is really annoying. I played a guy that was spamming pump fakes and 3s. Nothing elsei in his game. Just these too.

Eventually he lost by 20, but nevertheless it is frustrating.

The defensive assistance being low helps me out.

It's also key to put deny to off ball for shooters, other wise it seems defenders help too much.

I was used to putting my shot contest on always back in the 2k13 and 2k14 days, but is it better to do manual?

Yeah, always is the worst of the 3 settings. Manual is the best if you're very good at it, but it also takes the most skill. It also seems that it doesn't always trigger when you contest with the RS, which can be very annoying. L2 is sort of a middle ground, it's safer/allows you to get away with more than on manual, but can lead to more fouls than manual. I have it on L2 and try to contest as much as possible with the RS.
