Adding Badges & Shoes

I'm pretty new to MyTeam and haven't gotten as far yet as adding badges and shoes to players. Are there and particular guidelines to follow? Do you guys have certain players you'll always add certain things to?

And does the boost from the shoes last as long as they are wearing them?

Re: Adding Badges & Shoes

Right now, most people aren't using badges and shoes since there is a limited amount of MT out there. Take advantage and pick up badges and shoes on the cheap.

A couple things to know:
Badges
- Badges can really help improve player performance. You can upgrade a badge up from bronze to gold to maximize its ability
- Number of badge slots per player depends on the gem color of the card
- You should assign badges that either amplify a player's strengths (usually the best route) or shore up some of its weaknesses (I probably only spend a few slots doing this depending on card)
- Never waste a badge slot on something stupid (like Catch & Shoot on a Shaq card) because it can hurt the card's resell value (and it pisses me off)
- The shooting badges are generally most valuable. I like the defensive badges (Defensive Stopper, Rim Protector) as a priority too.

Shoes
- Players are limited to certain shoe brands. Usually this represents their real life branding. Historic players often will have more open shoe choices. Nike, Jordan, and Adidas are the most popular in that order
- Shoes are used up in any non-Play with Friends activity. You can see how many "boosts" (games) remain near the contract count in the lineup screen

What is the exact process of upgrading badges? Like is it one badge per level or do you keep needing more and more? I got a curry and he had a bronze deep three or whatever it's called and I added one more and it went to silver. So does it only take a few to max or ?
