This Sapphire Marcus Smart is awesome! His defense is very very good, he's strong, he's got a good three ball, and his strength makes him decent going to the rim even though he's not much of a dunker in traffic. I like my PGs to play good defense, be strong and athletic enough to play the pick and roll well, and he's definitely that. I paid 7200, which is surely too much for a Sapphire, but I don't care.

He and Avery Bradley are two of my favorite players in the league today. The Celtics are the closest thing the current NBA has to the two Pistons championship eras as far as team makeup and attitude. Ironically, the one Celtic that really doesn't fit the mold is the one named after the PG on our first run.
