Diamond shoes can be equipped on any player regardless of their brand restriction. Hence why I would love to equip DRob with a +9 for 3pt.

Haven't been lucky enough to pull a 3pt diamond shoe out of all the diamond shoes I have.

but I can't equip either pairs on Diamond DRob or Pippen

Thats not true. Diamond Shaqs for example. You can apply them to a handful of players only.
