Do skills still matter in this Game?

If you play park then you know what animations are the ones you can do it from. It's all base on size up, when you push right stick up and cancel. Some players can speed boost off hop shot cancel move, q rich and j.r smith only ones I know off top of my head with the cheesy quick one, and as far as someone with high speed with ball, if they have 86 or more ball control you can speed boost with the side to side momentum crossover move, YouTube if you don't know exactly what I'm talking about.
