New Theme for 3/14 (Campus Legends)

The new theme dropping tomorrow, as suspected, is Campus Legends. We've criticized 2K for some goofy attributes and overalls on players, but this theme is taking it to another level. There are 11 players in the set: 2 rubies, 4 amethysts and 5 diamonds. Exactly 3 of those 11 players have been or are good/great NBA players (Walton, Melo, & Battier). So now we live in a world with a Diamond Jimmer Fredette and Diamond Tyler Hansbrough because they were good in college. And the reward is a 96 OVR Christian Laettner. This mode gets weirder and weirder. Here are the cards in the set...

Deep shooters KD and Tracy should see a nice price increase with this collection being underwhelming.

Underwhelming is right. I don't spend a lot on VC, but for the first time I'm actually going to be home when the new pack drop and I was looking forward to trying my luck as soon as they did. After seeing this, I'm thinking it's a hard pass. I'll save my money for the next theme or make some MT in the auction house as people throw away their cards and badges. Hopefully the market tanks a bit and I can finally get my hands on Diamond AD.

McDermott, Hield and Fredette will probably have 95+ 3PT ratings with HOF Badges knowing 2k.

Wonder what the pull rates will be for the 'worse' diamonds, might finally see some Diamonds coming down to the Diamond Jimmy Butler price range

At this point I feel like the 2K guys starts up his madden when he leaves work and just writes down all the new events that come out to take back to work the next day.

Not surprised at all I mean what other college themed cards could they have put in this theme that doesn't already have other versions? It's just filler content at this point if you think about it they've released all the good cards and we still have 4 more USA themes to go.

2k made two crucial mistakes. 1) assigning each USA player as a theme collection reward. They couldn't think of a theme for lattner that could include good players. They were stuck with a college theme. And 2) increasingly more amethyst and diamonds in the collections, perpetuating the problem, creating diamond jimmer and hansbrough..

By releasing lattner as one of the first collections they could have made a lot of these players sapphire and rubies and the mistake could have been minimal.

I honestly am disgusted with this collection. It is such a mistake.

Yeah, if you go back to Handles...1 Ruby at the top, then 3 x Sapphire, 3 x Emerald, and 5 x Gold.
