Will myteam in 2k18 be worth getting into early?

Considering we now know how 2k does myteam, and the early cards will be useless in less than a quarter of the games lifespan, is it even worth spending/building your team early?

I can see myself playing a game here and there, but it will be hard for me to get invested in it early considering your time and money are better spent later in the games lifespan when they drop cards that can actually do things. We know they are nerfing shooting next year. Try playing with the emerald and sapphire players (forget bronze - gold) and see how terrible they are from three currently.

Is your goal to get the best team possible with least amount of hours played? Or is your goal to play the game?

Obviously my team is invest your time and/or money into getting the best team and I don't see the point in doing that early when those cards are going irrelevant. I remember experiencing the upgrade fatigue really fast. 2k was dropping upgrades every day.

Remember ruby rip Hamilton? Yeah that was a waste of $40. Oh yeah so was amethyst Kobe Bryant.

Consider that there are a lot of people who are happy to play the game and upgrade cards as they come out, as a constant process, because that is the known cycle of the game. The game is being played along the way and the quality of one's team is relative to the quality of one's opponent's.

There are also people who are perfectly satisfied playing on the budget end of the spectrum. All cycle long.

But if you find the whole thing unsatisfying until you arrive at endgame cards, then, yeah, maybe you should wait until the end. Especially if you don't want to grind MT and are going to just buy VC anyway.

Nba 2k17 was amazing, but I feel the same way as the topic creator. The early investment simply wasn't worth it. I'll play Nba 2k17 until about this time next year then jump on my team on 2k18.

I won't be that extreme. But I probably won't invest much time and money in my team early on like I did. That was a suckers play on my part. Seriously Ruby freaking rip Hamilton cost me $40. Call me a sucker and i will agree.

I just don't see the point in spending money early on the way I did this year. The cards are not worth it, if you think about all these patches and how they want to nerf shooting more, none of the cards early on are gonna be good from three. especially after they do the shooting patch when everyone has upgraded myplayers and myteams.

I invested only time, but far too much time.

I don't intend to put in so much time, and certainly still not money.

But I think the game can still be fun if you ride the best bargain players and are very savvy with how you use MT with an eye on where the endgame will be.

The way I see it, it's stupid to spend money early on in my team. I spent more money early on than I did later in the game because the auction house glitch ruined Myteam.

One of the smaller examples was I spent $40 on ruby Hamilton. If I spend $40 on my team I should get a player that I can use all year considering the game cost $60. Feel free to disagree with me.
