    Badging Thread (2K18)

Starting up a new thread to discuss badging for 2K18.

Nothing specific to discuss at the moment, but want to make a helpful reminder to everyone: we can overwrite badges this year.

So, even if you're playing on a limited budget and will not be buying premium badges any time soon, consider adding some of the really cheap badges to some of your players.

For any player who is posting up, Up & Under Specialist is very useful with how this year's game gives us so many nice transitions. And it's dirt-cheap, usually 250 or 300 MT. Dropstepper is also very cheap and a no-brainer for post-up bigs.

With the ability to overwrite badges, you don't have to worry about whether or not Pick Dodger will be what you really want on some Ruby card, a month from now when you will have MT to fully badge out with premium badges. Just slap Gold Pick Dodger on him for now, because it's useful and cheap.

And you can overwrite later and only be "wasting" 750 MT.

Card: Ruby Historic Pacers Roy Hibbert

      Comes With:
      • Putback King
      • Brick Wall
      • Bruiser
      • Chase Down Artist
      • Defensive Stopper
      • Rim Protector

      Empty Slots: 4

      Badges to Consider Adding:
      • Drop Stepper
      • Up & Under Specialist
      • Post Spin Technician
      • Hustle Rebounder
      • Pick & Roller
      • Pick & Popper
      • Break Starter
      • Dimer
      • Posterizer
      • Acrobat
      • Relentless Finisher

It's hard to decide what to put on, with only 4 slots and such a long list of very useful badges. That list above, by the way, is not in order of recommendation.

It really just depends on how you play him and what you want to emphasize.

Even if emphasizing inside offense, you have 6 badges to add (first three and last three) that are very useful, and only 4 slots.

Posterizer, Acrobat and Hustle Rebounder are must haves. To sacrifice any of them would be unthinkable. And personally for the last one I'd put Post Spin, such a good cheesy move at this stage with players like Roy. Relentless finisher is the only other one I'd consider.

That's all sensible. Another factor to consider is cost, along with ability to overwrite, and also likelihood that one will not play this card for very long.

So adding stuff from list that is cheapest could be better than waiting to save enough MT for ideal badging.

Alright time to wake the thread up. What did you guys badge Ruby Penny with he has 4 slots free and has.

            Gold:

            Tireless Scorer
            Acrobat
            Relentless Finisher
            One Man Fast Break
            Dimer
            Tear Dropper
            Posterizer
            Difficult Shots

            Fat Lever:

Great rebounding PG at 6-4. Dude has 75 Vertical, 82 Boxout, 80 Off Reb and 84 Def Reb.

I threw a speed shoe on him so hes at 99 Speed and 99 Acceleration.

Then just added Gold Putback King, Gold Break Starter and Gold Hustle Rebounder. Dude grabs everything the 99 speed isnt fair.

He already comes with Gold One Man Fastbreak so combine the rebounding badges with Break Starter and hes a problem.

              Re: Badging Thread (2K18)

I haven't been putting MT into premium badges so far. But since we can overwrite badges this year, I have been putting anything useful and cheap on guys I use a lot.

For Penny, I only put cheap stuff on so far: Pick Dodger, Charge Card, Lob City Passer, and Bruiser.

              Ideal, expensive badging is probably:

              1. Defensive Stopper
              2. Pick & Roll Maestro
              3. Catch & Shoot
              4. Corner Specialist
              5. Pick Dodger
              6. Bruiser
              7. Pick Pocket

Pick 4 out of 7. List not necessarily in order of preference.
