Plug and play sim roster (modern era)

I love sim basketball. But I love playing the game even more. My rosters get close to realistic attributes and tendencies without being exact. The variance from year year makes precision the 'magic dragon' anyway. This roster is playing really well. Here's what Ive worked on.



1. The best sig shots scouted from around the world (i.e. the sig shot thread).
2. Touched up player attributes.
3. Reworked lots of player tendencies.

i. Edited to edit out all players jacking 3s on the catch (eg Giannis). Reworked stepbacks and pulls to bring authenticity.

4. Reworked badges. Some were off. Eliminated some shooting badges to decrease the high% of 3s going in. Made everyone cold from corners and gave corner shooters a corner badge. Basically open 3s for CPU aren't automatic.

Took rebound chaser from all bigs, and gave it to solid reboduning guards and wings to help with centers getting too many boards.

5. Decreased durability of injury prone players.

6. Reworked players positions and secondary positions to improve rotations

7. Changed some accessories...basically all Mavericks players and short lengths of tall dudes to emphasise their length (Wemby, Giannis, etc)

8. Minutes. Im moving away from the set rotations this year with the AI being better.

9. Adjusted coaching POE for sim stats.

BIG FOCUS
Plays and play types for players. These are all over the shop on default. Fixed up a heap of errors. Gave lots of players a mid range play type. Added guard post ups where suited. Took all play types away from some guys (PJ Tucker types won't shoot much)

Yep most teams run a heap of pnr, so I left those plays alone. But teams that do things differently got attentiion
e.g. Put in a bunch of new plays for Denver where Jokic works from the elbows. His main type is a handoff passer. It works well. Same with Sabonis and the Kings. Knicks got lots of isos

WEAKNESSES

The bottom 5 players on each roster. Too much time, too little reward.

Similarly, tendencies that won't have a gameplay impact. eg. Chris Paul's post up move tendencies. Does he shoot hooks, or fades? I didn't even look.

Accessories. Not a focus of mine.

Giannis/Embiid/Zion/Wemby got lots of wing isos.

You'll find some errors or discrepancies. Hopefully minor ones.

Main ones yes. But the bottom 5 guys on each roster are not good. I was just waiving 2 way guys to get under the limit.

I liked the way rebounding played out with this roster. Was there anything you did besides badge edits to get better variety with rebounding?

Nope default reb stats are scaled pretty well.

Just updated nugs playbook. Only handoff pass plays with a team name show up in Jokic handoff passer plays, which is a weird bug.

Can you elaborate on this a little?

I played a few games with that roster and it really feels differen then the standard one. The biggest change is really the rebounding, because the game gets faster with Guards and Wings getting boards and pushing it directly. I play with the Thunder and it's such a pleasure to run the floor with SGA and Giddey after a board. And my opponent does as well.
