    Speed vs Quickness

    Speed :

Is basically how fast you are running straight while dribbling or running without the ball .Give a guy high speed low quickness and he will move fast without the ball period - except while changing directions.

    Quickness IMO is more important:

Affects the speed of your dribbles. How quick you change directions defensively or running without the ball . Also affects explosiveness! It affects how long it takes for you to start "running faster" as well.

    Small Guards vs Bigs

In my testing i found giving bigs speeds comparable to guards was not a game breaker. It actually represents their real speed. I think the game changer is quickness not speed.

      Re: Speed vs Quickness

Ballhandling and the defensive stance ratings factor too. The CPU is pretty good at controlling the clumsy slowish stance but they have a hell of a time guarding Lillard's 95 ball handling rating. I could be facing Dwight Howard - bigger, faster, can jump higher and has a huge wingspan but he cant consistently defend Lillard's ability to shoot off the dribble without crowding him which allows the quickness advantage to take effect. Quickness matters most with the first step. If I do a step back and Howard comes forward Lillard's first step will have him on his heels. If he doesnt come forward its a an open shot.

The main issue I have with the CPU's onball defense is that they dont ride and funnel you to help well. Their help defense does seem to be a lot better than the player's.
