If you create your players, when you assign them to their team it asks you to copy them to the team. After you do that, if you delete the created player, he still shows up in the roster. AND it frees up a CAP spot.

Re: Classic Season?

Just got the game and started messing around; another way to deal with the CAP limit is to edit existing players (you can edit nearly everything this year, including name). You can't change their look, so realism takes a little hit, but for roster spots 13 and 14 for any given team it might be an adequate fix to find an existing player who looks more or less similar and edit them.

For those who make classic seasons (or who would be interested in playing classic seasons): what would you want done with the teams that didn't exist at the time? For instance, if I created the 1989-1990 season, the Bobcats, Raptors, and Grizzlies didn't exist. Any thoughts on a way to handle that? College teams? Create "expansion teams" out of players who were in the league at the time? Time warp the rosters for those franchises from some other season?

One option would be to give those teams their inaugural rosters and pretend they all came into the league that year. Or maybe take the best college and international players from that time to fill out the teams like they had an expansion draft. Maybe just use college players that entered the draft the following year.

Either way an 89/90 roster would be sweet.
