There's no distinction made in the NBA anymore. It's not Rookie vs. Sophomores. It's the 2 coaches of the teams picking from a pool of rookies and sophomores.

It's been that way for the past year or 2 in the real all star weekend. David Stern said he felt the game wasn't competitive enough pitting 2nd year players vs first year guys.
