Yeah, that 92 Cavs team was definitely better than the 93 team, as they met the Bulls in the ECF that year (the 93 team got swept by the Bulls in the ECSF).

That way I wouldn't have to create some extra players such as Ewing, Mullin, Oakley, etc. I still need to discuss with vtcrb, but also open to suggestions on how to go about it. It would be nice if there was some underlying theme with each roster...such as a champions edition and a great non champions edition. I don't know...just thinking out loud here.
I would much rather one full list if possible depending on number of teams being involved. Because I have 2 post 2000 teams. The '07-'08 Lakers. And also any of the Shaq and Kobe Lakers. I don't have a personal preference to either.

Re: NBA LEGACY Roster for NBA 2k15(XboxOne)

Not sure how important the time frame is, nor do I know if there are limits the game imposes in terms of how many teams can be made.

Not because they are my favorite teams or anything, but if we are talking about classic/successful teams, it'd probably be relatively east to make, say, the championship heat with Lebron (be a shame to not have him represented in the roster), last year's Spurs (since the team is pretty much already in the game anyway), the Pierce/Garnett/Allen championship Celtics team. You could throw some version of the current Thunder team in there as well (no championships, but several long playoff runs, and no different than having, say, the 92 Hornets). I mention all these teams because they'd be pretty easy add-ons, and probably not result in any big duplicates.

Of course, they may be too recent or not fit. Just an idea.

Funny you say that. The first version of this project will have those very teams.

2013 Heat
2014 Spurs
2013 Thunder
Some others include: 2004 Grizzlies, 2004 TWolves, 2011 Bulls, 1997 Hornets, and 2005 Wizards to name a few.

The 2008 Celtics will be on the second version, because the 86 Celtics will represent them and Garnett will be on TWolves.

I will post a complete list soon. Just got caught up in real life this week.

Re: NBA LEGACY Roster for NBA 2k15(XboxOne)

I'm grateful for any thing you guys do, as your work and effort is much appreciated it. I'll just toss in my two cents...

I'd like to see something with the best teams from mid-80s to the present (or recent present), championships or not.

Maybe replace some of the not so great teams from the 80s and 90s with great teams from 2000s.

Teams like the 01 Bucks, the 02 Kings, the 03 Spurs (Big 3 + Admiral), the 04 Pistons, some version of the Nash-Dirk Mavs, the best D'Antoni Suns team, the Kobe/Pao Lakers, the big 3 Celtics, the big 3 Heat, the 14 Spurs, maybe a T-Mac/Yao Rockets.

But I'll be thrilled with whatever you guys do. Good luck.

Re: NBA LEGACY Roster for NBA 2k15(XboxOne)

After lots of thought and deliberation, we have decided to expand and divide this project into 2 rosters. The first one, The NBA Legacy Elite Teams, will include great teams from each franchise post 1980. As you will notice, some franchises have more than one team, given their status as an elite franchise. The second roster, (name to be announced), will include more great teams including some average teams with great players. These teams we think will be fun to play with, even though they may have not been great on paper. We will share initial teams for that list, but there are still slots available and we are open to suggestions. The team selection process included taking into account the team’s record, reputation, and team slot availability. In a couple cases, we went with what we thought was the better team, even though they may not have won the championship. (2006 Pistons over 2004 Pistons)

You will notice a few teams that could have been included on the Elite list (i.e. 2009 Cavs, 2008 Celtics) but didn’t because key players were needed on a better team and I wanted to avoid using CAPs for such players. The use of CAPs will be unavoidable in some cases. (Such as Garnett being on 3 teams.) We will use look a likes when appropriate, but given improvements in the CAP system, that will be done case by case. In many cases we will use generic players for the 13th man. (IMO, there is no need to put time and energy into a player who never plays) We understand that doing 2 versions cuts down some on matchups, but you gain more teams this way. There has already been a ton of progress on CAPs, but we are still trying to nail down some gameplay elements since the last patch. We DO feel the project will move quicker than NCAA Legacy given there is no need to spend time creating jerseys and dealing with RED MC freeze issues. Here are the team lists:
