Rating System
Our rating system is very complex. We have four different systems: Rookies, Prime Start, Prime Ending and Near Retirement.

Rookie System: We try to do as much scouting as possible. We start off by giving them a standard rating based on their projection and draft quality. An example would be how the 2014 draft class was considered one of the worst so the base rating for the projected number one was 75 and after our rating system Wiggins went up to a 76 vs. The 2015 draft being one of the best drafts of all time and the projected number one started at 80 and dropped to a 79 after the rating system.

We start by assessing their weaknesses. We weigh their weaknesses very heavily and could potentially drop them 10 overall points. We do this because the NBA is the highest level of basketball from emotions to difficulty, many players like Evan Turner and Greg Oden could dominate at the collegiate level and never live up to their projected potential and draft stock at the next level. After we assess their weaknesses we work on their strengths which are not fully adapted. We will put 100% strictness on making their weaknesses show but only 60% strictness on making their strengths show because rookies don't stand out like a James Harden or a Russell Westbrook, they take time to develop and work on their strengths and the rookie contract is about filing your role and being a small functional piece of the team while developing and working on your strengths and weaknesses. Lastly we tweak their athleticism, mainly taking their stamina down a bit because the NBA games are longer and much faster paced and it tends to show on rooks in their first few months of play.

Start Prime: We usually allow players to be edited under the start prime system after they finally exit their rookie contract and get resigned like Klay Thompson. Although some players start their prime much sooner while still in their rookie contact (Durant) that is exceptional and we don't go looking to create the next 2K unstoppable machine, we like to keep players realistic. When we decide to use the start prime formula we assess these key areas: Badges, Consistency, Athleticism, Basketball IQ, Durability and Potential. An age that is standard start prime would be 24-25 although it could be later like it would be for Delon Wright of Utah State who's draft stock is very low do to his older age of 23 when most rooks are 19 and 20. A player will usually gain 3-5 overall points when he is in start prime and could gain 10-20 Points during association. 20 being highly rare. The highest potential gain would be for a player who has won rookie of the year and has a low overall of 73 or below which is highly rare.

End Prime: for a player who is near the end or at the end of his prime we try to get him ready for entering free agency or the retirement phase which would only be for players who can undoubtedly be an asset at the ages of 33-40 when their overalls terms to drop drastically. A player could drop as much as 25 overall points from the climax of their prime to the day they retire so it is very important we keep the greats like Kobe, LeBron, Melo & CP3 updated so they won't fall to being a reserve. For greats like LeBron, he should be able to have the same retirement phase as Tim Duncan is having right now (unbiased, not a LeBron fan. I Just respect him). Not to the point of still pulling in rings on a team that isn't considered a stacked team, but LeBron shouldn't have to hit a 73 overall and playing 3rd in rotation SF. So we tend to update the things that 2K weighs heavily on during this phase which is athleticism, Basketball IQ and durability so that when they enter the retirement phase they are able to drop at a lesser rate.

Retirement: During a players retirement phase (33-40) we tend to let them drop with 2k's system but as said in the End Prime description, we like to make sure the greats and all stars don't fall to bench reserves as the greats will be veteran starters and the all stars will be veteran role players like Elton Brand and Vince Carter. I'm not saying players like LeBron, KD and Westbrook are GOATS, but they are modern day greats and deserve their recognition until their retirement.

When you say "cyberfaces," do you mean legitimate, scanned cyberfaces or just re-created using the create-a-player tools? If it's really a cyber face, I'd be really interested to see Joe Harris.
