Results are in! I'll get started putting together those historic ratings in the next few days. It's interesting to note that none of the badges got any votes whatsoever, even if it came with a tendency.

I am currently generating updated ratings for this season, I should have them up by tomorrow.

Meanwhile the updated advanced rotations are already done, and uploaded to the sheet! This includes rotations for teams with new faces in new places after the deadline. So super editors, you have some busy work ahead of you.

Low key bummed the drive pull up midrange tendency didn't win. I feel like it'd change certain players a tremendous amount like historic Kobe, demar derozan, etc.

Well, I'll tell you what, I just realized I didn't throw in my vote yet, and I want to see the drive pull up tendencies, too. So we have a tie; I'll get those tendencies added after the Mid/3PT stuff.

New update! I've uploaded all the new ratings for the current season using stats through All-star weekend.

Potential doesn't make sense for this system, for three reasons:

1) This form of stat-based rating generation that Sportscrunch uses is not meant for forecasting. That is, it creates ratings based on what has already been done, but it doesn't try to predict what might be in the future, which is what potential is all about.

2) The potential rating is literally the highest possible *overall* rating that the player can achieve. Yes, it is that archaic and stupid. So, in order to even attempt to calculate it, I'd have to have the exact formulas for all five overall rating (there's a different formula for each primary position). And even then, I'd have to have all other attribute ratings generated by this system to get a correct overall value. And even then, I'd need to be doing forecasting, so see problem 1.

3) Potential of a player is really a subjective category. Ask five different people what they think the ceiling is for a Ben Simmons or Donovan Mitchell and you get five different answers.

So, you'll never see a potential category put out by this system. But, the good news is it wouldn't be terribly difficult to figure out some approximate values by hand. In my system, MVP's tend to be at about 88-90 overall, All-stars at 80 and above, regular starters/6th men at about 75 and above, rotation bench players at 70 and above, and garbage time players at about 60 to 68. Using that scale, it's really about using your best judgment.
