1978-79 Roster 2K16 for PS4

This is my first attempt at 2K rosters after many Madden/NCAA rosters. I'm going to make this as realistic as possible but it is a work in progress. Since there were only 22 teams in the NBA the remaining teams are filled out with rookies that didnt make rosters and vets that had recently played as well as European league players. All teams are in their current slots except Oklahoma City which needs to be swapped out with classic Seattle. The FA pool is also named with ex-players. File is complete as of 12/18/15.

What was done:
All players have been named/height/weight/college
All players and Free agents have been rated
Rotations have been set
Players contracts/styles done/signature/equipment have been edited
named teams for 8 teams not in league in 78-79




The roster is listed as 1978-79 under the name OldschoolCarl
The 1979 draft class is done, listed as 79-80 under the name OldschoolCarl

Is there anyway to use the shorter trunks that were worn in those years versus the current longer ones for this mod ?

Really enjoying this Season Roster ......... The only NBA Team I've ever followed were the New Orleans Jazz from that era with Maravich (although I did somewhat follow the New Orleans Buccaneers too) so this mod is on target for my enjoyment!

The only way to use the shorter shorts is to use the classsic teams but then you can only use one option for the uniform. Let me know what you think of the Jazz team and if they need any changes. I followed tha Atlanta Hawks at that time, they were the only team on TV consistently because of TBS. I will be going thru and tweaking players as I test the rosters too but any feedback from you Don is welcome.

You've got to upgrade tmac!!! Love the ps4...cant really compare 2k since this is the first one i've bought, but it is amazingly in depth. Havent really experimented too much with create a player but it allows facial sculpturing and hundreds of signature shot forms. My only beef so far is not allowing short shorts for teams unless you mod a historic team. Been having so much fun I haven't even bought Madden yet...But I did pick up Grand Theft Auto so I could take out my work aggression haha

LOL...ok Carl you've got me sold! Lol...BTW, go ahead and get madden on black friday from walmart. Going to be around $25-$27. I went ahead and bought it for $28 recently for the ps4. Will probably pickup the ps4 on black friday for $299 and nba 2k16 for $27....not bad shopping for a man.LOL

Just updated the file. All teams from 78-79 (22 teams) have updated equipment and correct right/left hand dominance. Also around 11 teams have updated and correct player play style. Going to break for a few days for the holidays and then will get back to finishing players and badges. After file is finished I will probably go back in and create CAPS for players that I'm not happy with player appearence.

Added an update to the file. Finished player's style for the remaining NBA teams and completed ratings for app. 15 more FA's. Also did a lot of work on the replacemnet teams and tweaked some tendacies for teams that I've tested.

Have you thought of adding some ABA players who did not have an opportunity to play in the NBA. Examples Mel Daniels C for the Pacers, Roger Brown Sf Pacers, Mack Calvin PG Rockets/Cougars, Billy Cunningham SF Cougars, Connie Hawkins PF/SF whose best years were in the NBA.

I tried to make the 8 teams that didnt exist as real as possible, so I tried to stock them with players below the age of 34 and used players that had been cut in the last 2-4 years. I also looked for US players playing overseas at the time and a bunch of young players drafted in the last 2-3 years that didnt make rosters. Mack Calvin is included along with a pretty good many ABA players like George Karl, John Brisker, Warren Jabali, etc. I put a few recently retired NBA players like Dave Bing, John Havlicek, Ernie DiGregorio, Howard Porter and Geoff Petrie(retired young due to injury) in as well. I still have some generic players that I could edit... would like to see those guys on the court too but I'll have to make them with lower ratings since they really slowed down. Doing research I found about a minor league( I think 1976) that a lot of those guys played in(The Indiana team pretty much signed every ex-pacer...Daniels, Brown, Freddie Lewis, and Bob Netolicky and finished in last place) If you list some guys, I'll see what I can do.
