Group Stage Recap

USA came out on top of Group A in convincing fashion. The beat teams by 20+ in every game and were lead by 2 great big men, the first pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, Karl-Anthony Towns and the guy from Harvard, Josh Ham. Ham turned out be a good surprise for Team USA, as he got the starting spot over Jahill in game 2 out of 3 and in those two games he averaged 14.5 PPG and 13 RPG. Gaurd, D'Angelo Russell was great averaging 9.6 APG over the 3 games. Croatia are the other team qualifying only losing to the US by 21. The Big 3 of the Croatians is averaging over 15.5 PPG each. Dario Saric is averaging 15.6, Bogdan Bogdanovic is averaging 17.3 and Mario Hejonza is averaging 16.3 PPG. Both Teams look strong and are both my picks to make it to the semi-finals.

Group B was a group with teams led by mediocre players playing great team basketball. Except for Turkey, who did both with Furkan Korkmaz who averaged 17.6 points per game for Turkey, he is a leader of his team in the Euroleague as well.

Greece topped this group behind 2 Bucks, Giannis who averaged 21.3 PPG, 10.3 RPG and 9.6 APG bringing Greece to the top but he needed help. He got it from his Bucks teammate, Damian Inglis. Who brought 13.6 PPG to the table. Latvia and Serbia played a crucial game in game 2 out of 3 in which Kristaps Porzingis couldn't bring his trash teammates along losing to the Serbian side, which had a great game from Nikola Jokic. The man got after it and ended up with 22 Points, 13 Rebounds and 4 Blocks. Insane! Greece is another team that will make a push but will likely fall to US or Canada. Whichever they play.

Canada topped this group with star, Andrew Wiggins and the 4 other NBA players only behind USA's 6. Wiggins got 19 PPG in 3 games including 21 over the win against Australia. Australia came 2nd in the group behind amazing play from guard Dante Exum, who averaged 17.3 PPG along with 9.6 APG. Canada will likely be the team to have a good battle with USA. Knockout stage draw is tomorrow and Quarterfinals the next day!

FIBA U21 Bracket Released!

The Bracket has been drawn! Some easy matchups except for Greece vs Croatia. Croatia was my pick for semi-finals and might get there. Turkey and Austrailia will be a good one but not many will be watching. All other games are looking to be 10+ point wins. The classification games are being played as we speak and will finish by tonight as the were started yesterday afternoon. Results of those will be out and scores from these games should be out by tonight as well as US and Canada play their games and Greece and Croatia will play tomorrow morning.

Quarter Finals Finished!

USA won with ease over Spain, with an unlikely hero. Victor Howard had 17 points, 13 of those in the 2nd half when US needed them. At the end of the 1st half, USA were up by only 4 points and Howard came in big. Greece came in big against Croatia with a close win. Inglis got 20 points to bring home the W. Canada had a blowout win against Serbia and Australia beat out Turkey.

U21 Tournament Finished!

An exciting tournament! We saw some of the NBA's young players excel and some college players change in their mock. At the end of the day, USA is the champion of this tourney.

USA came out on top behind a triple-double and 22 from Giannis and Inglis. USA had to do some work though, having 7 guys in double figures helped them to victory.

Canada got an easy draw as the 3 out of the 4 hard teams were in the other side of the bracket. The got Austraila in the semis. They beat out Austrailia even though Dante Exum had a nice double-double, 19 points and 11 assists. Andrew Wiggins only had 12.

USA beat out Canada in a 6 point win, Wiggins went ham and got 33 points but his supporting cast only shot 27% and Canada committed 22 turnovers leading to 31 USA points and USA played some great team basketball having 8 guys in double figures and their scoring was between 6-16 throughout the entire team. USA wins the tourney and Karl-Anthony Towns wins tournament MVP averaging 15.4 PPG and 9.8 RPG.
