Drafted at #10 in 2019 by the Hornets, he averaged 9.8 pts and 6.3 rebs in 21 mins in his rookie year, getting 2nd rookie team honours. He then went 10.7 & 7.1 the next year, and only 11.2 and 7.0 the next year. Expected to have broken out by now, in his 4th year Zion averaged 14.2 and 9.6, showing incremental improvement but little sign of superstardom. In his 5th year he averaged 15.8 and 10.8, again showing incremental improvement. But it was his 6th year where things turned around, where arguably the most athletic player in the league finally broke out into stardom and averaged 19.8 pts, 9.5 rebs, 2.7 asts and 1.4 blks on 56%fg. This completely changed Charlotte's outlook, who are considered a contender today. Now in his 7th year, he has won MVP. ROY: Brandon Ross, PHX, PG/SG Statline: 11.4/5.9/5.6/1.6/0.8 Percentages: 46.3/82.0/30.6 6MOY: Miles Bridges, HOU, SF/PF Statline: 11.1/6.9/3.4/1.2/1.1 in 28.4 mins Percentages: 44.8/75.7/37.6 DPOY: Robert Williams, GSW, PF/C Statline: 12.0/12.1/0.8/1.0/2.1 Percentages: 48.6/69.8/15.4 MIP: Sherron Davis, LAC, PG Statline: 20.0/2.7/9.8/1.3/0.1 Percentages: 44.1/87.7/30.8 Last year's statline: 15.4/2.3/7.9/1.3/0.1 COY: Jamie Young, Seattle Supersonics, 68-14 ALL-NBA 1st TEAM: G--Markelle Fultz, SAC G--Lonzo Ball, ORL F--Zion Williamson, CHA F--Luka Doncic, DET C--Karl Towns, MIN ALL-NBA 2nd TEAM: G--Tyshawn Atkins, TOR G--RJ Barrett, VAN F--Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL F--Josh Jackson, NOP C--DeAndre Ayton, LAC ALL-NBA 3rd TEAM: G--Dejounte Murray, SA G--Immanuel Quickley, DAL F--Jarell Benson, BOS F--Ben Simmons, PHI C--Nikola Jokic ALL-DEFENSIVE 1st TEAM: G--RJ Barrett, VAN G--Markelle Fultz, SAC F--Robert Williams, GSW F--Josh Jackson, NOP C--Jaka Moore, DET ^ interesting that the DPOY didn't make the All-Defensive 1st team. I wonder how much influences defensive attributes have on the awards selections? I hope it has a little bit of influences, so that good defenders that don't necessarily get stats can get in there. That's sorta like players getting into all-defensive teams based on reputation in real life, which would be good. All-defensive 2nd team: G--Immanuel Quickley, DAL G--Jaylen Brown, BOS F--Shareef O'Neal, SEA F--Kostas Antetokounmpo, DEN (Giannis' bro!) Seattle (68-14) and Charlotte (66-16) are again the only teams to win over 60 games. Teams to win over 50 games are: Brooklyn (57-25), Portland (56-26), Chicago (56-26), Utah (55-27), Boston (53-30), Houston (52-30) Top 3 worst records in the league were: Cleveland (19-63, right after LeBron left again haha, to retirement), New York (22-60), Indiana (25-57) Onto the playoffs

Re: I've simmed up to 2025 using draft classes from OS. Here's how the landscape look
2026 PLAYOFFS
Seattle Supersonics knocked out first round! Seattle lost to the team that i'm controlling, the Memphis Sounds, 4-2. My team is full of young players; nobody over 80 overall, and Seattle were the best regular season team, so it's a massive upset. I simmed all of the games, except for 1 game which i played against Seattle and lost. So the sim games were actually 4-1. I didn't manipulate the results at all. Experts are blaming Westbrook, who shot 31.3% on 11.6 shots per game, for 12.3 ppg in the playoffs. They are criticising him for not giving up the ball more to Shareef O'Neal on offense, who only averaged 16.7ppg. Westbrook will probably retire now. Not an ideal way to go out. Charlotte and Boston, two other East powerhouses, were also pushed to the brink, winning their 1st round matchups 4-3 agains Miami and Philly, respectively. CONFERENCE FINALS The teams that made it to the WCF were 3rd-seeded Utah Jazz and 4th-seeded Houston Rockets. And the teams that made it to the ECF are 1st-seeded Charlotte Hornets and 3rd-seeded Chicago Bulls. Here's the story for their teams... Utah Jazz (3) Utah are a defensive team first and foremost. An absolute force on that end, due to an elite defensive coach as well as elite defensive players. They have Marcus Smart and Stanley Johnson on the wings, who are both elite defenders. DeAndre Jordan and Maurice Harkless coming off the bench. Even a 36 yr old Jimmy butler chipping in 17 mins off the bench. Their coach is a generated guy called Michael Goodrich who has an A+ on defense and a B on offense. Lawrence Howard is their 24 year old superstar player who contributes big on both sides of the floor (reg season statline: 17.2/11.0/2.3/0.2/2.0 with percentages of 59.7/75.0/0.0). Their starting PF, Brandy Bell, is their 2nd round steal from back in 2020, who they drafted #31 overall. He only averages a modest 11.3 pts & 6.4 rebs (27.7mins), but he has played for Utah all his life, and is beloved by fans for doing all the little things that gets wins. They are however a sub-par scoring and shooting team. During the regular season the Jazz as a team scored 93.7 ppg (29th in the league), and were dead last in 3pt% (30.7%) and 24th in FT%. But it's their defense that is their calling card, and they were #1 in the league in opponent PPG, with 86.2 PAPG, which is quite incredible in the modern era. Despite their poor scoring, their elite defense gives them the 4th best point-differential in the league with +7.5, behind the Hornets, Supersonics and the Nets. Houston Rockets The Rockets have one of the best coaches in the league in Ime Udoka, who has an A- for both offense and defense. But Houston are mostly an offensive team. They have great offensive IQ, shooting, playmaking, scoring, and they have solid athleticism too. Melvin Watkins is a pint-sized point-guard who was drafted 5th overall in 2024 by the Houston Rockets. During the season he averaged 10.6pts, 6.4 asts and 1.3 stls with percentages of 40.2/40.5/89.8. But has been playing very well in his 9 playoffs games so far with 16.8pts and 7.7asts on 48%. Malik Beasley was traded to Houston this season for Donovan Mitchell, and has become their go-to guy. During the season Beasley averaged 18.4/5.1/3.9/1.3/0.5 with percentages of 49.1/37.5/92.2. Cameron Reddish is probably Houston's best all-around contributor, with averages of 15.7/6.7/4.0/1.3/1.1 and percentages of 46.9/40.4/79.5. Marco Gomez is a stretch-four for the Rockets. Miles Bridges is from the 2018 class, drafted #14 back then, 6th man of the year now. He's a solid player, and when he started for Portland back in 2023/24 he averaged 15.5/8.4/4.7/1.4/1.3. Even James Harden is still on the team, tucked away on the bench rated 73 overall at 36 yrs old, playing 15.3 mins off the bench and averaging 5pts. How the mighty have fallen. Charlotte Hornets Charlotte have gotta be considered the favourite to win it all at this point. Take one look at their lineup and you can see how beastly they are. Let's meet their team. Their coach is Elijah Nelson, a fictional guy who has an A for offense and a B- for defense. Dude looks like Mike Wang, haha. We all know who Tyus Jones is. He's 30 yrs old now and averaged 10.7 pts and 6.5 asts during the season. Romeo Langford is a 26 yr old all-around star from the 2019 class, who averaged 16.1/4.0/3.5/1.4/0.4 this past season with percentages of 47.8/37.4/88.2. However last season he was better - he averaged 18.5ppg and became a member of the 50-40-90 club. Zion Williamson was the MVP this season and we already talked about him in the post above. Jonathan Isaac just had probably his best season yet. The 28 year old all-rounder averaged 14.4/6.9/4.4/1.1/1.7 with percentages of 49.1/37.7/86.6. His boxscore stats don't blow you away but his defense is monstrous and that shows up more in the win column than the boxscores. Elijah Okoye is a humble center who is a good defender and inside finisher. 6.1pts, 5.0rebs, 1.2blks in 23mins. Chicago Bulls The Bulls are a rebuilding team so it's weird to see them consistently win so many games this season. Further investigation i discover that they were the #2 in the league in opponent PPG this season behind the Jazz. Why? Well they have a coach who has an A+ for defense. It's interesting that coaches have such a big effect. I like it! Do they have many defensive players? Let's see... Their best player is Bam Adebayo (84ovr) who they play off the bench cos they're rebuilding, even in the playoffs lol. His defense is good too, as is his rebounding. He averaged 13.8pts, 8.7rebs and 1.4 blks on 55.2% in 26.3 mins off the bench for the Bulls this season. They have Ivan Rabb starting at PF who doesn't get many blocks or steals but his other defensive attributes are pretty good. He's also a great rebounder. Averaged 10pts and 8rebs in 26 mins during season. Bradley Beal obviously isn't known for his defense. He's 32 yrs old now and averaged 10.7 pts in 27 mins during the reg season. Kevin Knox. Ok he looks like a good defender. 6'9" SF. 91 for on-ball D, 89 for P&R defense. The other defensive ratings are decent but those are the 2 stand out ones. Qing Xue Lu is the Bulls' starting point guard sorta by default of the Bulls not having anyone better, but he has been solid for the Bulls, averaged 13.3pts and 6.3 asts in 31 mins. Good shooter. Drafted #8 in 2022. Ok i'm exhausted from typing. I probably wont do that again lol ^ Moving on... Somehow the Bulls beat the Hornets in the ECF 4-3 which is actually pretty annoying. Chicago have no business being in The Finals. I mean, their team state says "rebuilding". Charlotte was the only team that really deserved to be put into the history books as a champion. Meanwhile Houston beat Utah 4-3. THE FINALS Chicago Bulls won the championship 4-3. That's annoying. They're in rebuild mode. Bam Adebayo won finals MVP playing from the bench. My theory is that roster depth is a huge advantage in 2k, regardless of whether you have superstars or not. It's something i have noticed before, and this confirms it. Bulls have 10 players base rated 77 or higher. But nobody over 84. And their chemistry/morale is great so everybody has green arrows and is rated 1 or 2 points higher. Yep, depth wins championships in 2k17

He previously played for Orlando. Everybody else resigned with their old teams. I'm turning "Cpu resign aggressiveness" down from 57 to 50. While i'm at it, also turning Career-ending injury frequency from 25 to 35, draft class quality from 44 to 50. Turning CPU and User injury frequency from 51 to 52. And CPU and User injury effects from 52 to 53. I wanna see the middle of the pack get wiped out a little bit, and in turn i'll be making sure players are able to become 90+ players. Also changing trade frequency from 55 to 58 cos i wanna see a bit more player movement. There we go. Robert Williams signed with the Nets after i changed it. NEXT DRAFT CLASS: For 2027's class i'm using Pierralban's fictional class. Gonna take a break then start next season. P.s. just realized Westbrook and Harden STILL haven't retired yet, hah.

Re: I've simmed up to 2025 using draft classes from OS. Here's how the landscape look
In his rookie season, Ulius Landry (drafted #6 overall by Orlando in 2025) averaged 15.8 pts, 3.5 rebs, 4.4 asts, 1.2 stls, 0.2 blks, 2.1 to's in 30.8 minutes. He shot 44.9%fg and 37.3% from downtown and 84.2% from the line. 75 games played. Edit: P.s. MarvellousOne, i just noticed a 6'10" Tyler Van Horn faceup PF in your personal draft class... Any tribute to Keith Van Horn there?
Jaiveer and MarvellousOne like this.
