On Wednesday night, it was announced that LeBron James will grace the cover of the NBA 2K14 Standard Edition. It was already known that Tracy McGrady, who retired last year, would be on the Legend Edition, and rumors swirled as early as Tuesday that it would be LBJ on the cover of the Standard Edition.
After NBA 2K13's success, it was expected that 2K Sports would make an even bigger splash with 2K14, and the popular video game franchise started the yearly cycle right, unveiling the Standard Edition cover featuring LeBron James. The game is due out in October for the PS3 and XBOX 360 and November for the PS4 and XBOX ONE.
James makes sense on the cover, with the MVP season he had last year posting numbers of 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. He is also an avid 2K gamer, often discussing how he uses the game to gameplan for teams that he is playing in real life.
