Cycloniac's TrueSim NBA 2k24 Sliders

Welcome to pure, sim basketball.


These sliders were created using the roster I'm working on, but they should work well with any roster. At a minimum, they will be a good starting point, and I'll also share explanations for the values.

If you're looking for a CPUvCPU set, these work perfectly for that as CPUvCPU is my favorite way to play.

Game Speed: 55 - I really like the pace here. Just a tick up from default, which I felt was a touch too slow. The speed, acceleration and movement sliders balance this.

Speed: 25 - good for spacing as well as pace, helps differentiate speedy guys from the rest.

Hands: 100 - helps a bit with tipped passes/interceptions

On-Ball Defense: 50
Stealing: 100
Blocking: 100 - you should see 5+ blocks a game
Offensive Awareness: 75 - helps with ball movement, drive and kick, and fast breaks
Defensive Awareness: 35 - helps with spacing and fouls
Offensive Rebounding: 65 - I may play a bit more with the rebounding sliders, but for now, this will get offensive rebounds up to where they should be, which also helps FGAs
Defensive Rebounding: 35
Offensive Consistency: 25 - this is key for balance and runs as well as game to game variance. Sometimes, the shots just don't fall, but the opposite is also true.
Defensive Consistency: 100
Fatigue Rate: 15
Lateral Quickness: 75 - helps with fouls and help defense/rotations


TENDENCIES
Take Inside Shots: 60 - gets bigs/cutters touches and balances the pick and roll game.
Take Close Shots: 40
Take Mid-Range Shots: 45
Take 3PT Shots: 45 - 3PT shooters will still get their shots, but offenses will be more willing to take easy shots in the paint. Just depends on what options are there.
Post Shots: 45
Attack the Basket: 50
Look for Post Players: 100 - this helps keep bigs involved, but also helps with overall ball movement and offensive flow.
Throw Alley-Oops: 50
Attempt Dunks: 50
Attempt Putbacks: 40
Play Passing Lanes: 100
Go for On-Ball Steals: 75
Contest Shots: 50 - increase to 100 if you want more fouls, but I like this at 50 for now.

I’m loving the set man.

I have one question. On the fatigue at 15 will that affect my injury sliders? I have those ramped up to try and see more.

Nope, that shouldn't have a noticeable effect. You should be good.

Overall, the slider set is strong. But, some immediate tweaks are needed on offence. Three games into my Raptors franchise and each started 0-5 to open the game, and most of these are uncontested looks. One of those games, I started 1-9. Going to bump offence up one or two ticks on close/medium/long range.

This game seems to be suffering from the same issue it’s had for years, absolutely no post offence scoring. Most times, I get sucked into an animation.

Apart from some adjustments, good start to this set, Cycloniac. Good job!

Let me know how those shooting tweaks go. One thing I noticed when I had the sliders higher was too many And-1s. I'm not sure if there's another slider that could help counteract that though.

For post scoring, that may be a roster thing. When you have tendencies setup right, bigs can get plenty of touches and shots in the post IMO.

Getting great results so far man!! I wasn’t sure about blocks being maxed out, but shouldn’t have doubted. As far as I’m concerned it’s great!!
