Re: 2k15 Game Speed
So far I have it on 49, but I haven't been able to test it much to come to a conclusion. I can say without a doubt though that out of the box, the combo of 50/50/50 for Game Speed/Quickness/Player Speed feels too fast and leads to a lot of herky jerky movements. -
Re: 2k15 Game Speed
It's an improvement out of the box vs last year especially with the new animations but I've been experimenting with 49/48 now and it feels a bit more natural. I may stick with 48.Comment

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
I'd have the agree with TheFuture and say it's 49.
Last year you couldn't get decent results when setting it close to default... 49 seems the be the "it" rating that reflects NBA IRL in terms of passing speed, etc.Comment

2k15 Game Speed
I got quickness at 30 and player speed at 23 and oh boy I can't stop playing now. This is for user and CPU sliders. Game speed at 50 would never mess with game clock.

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
100. i know i'm in the minority, but i truly believe that this speed is more representative of the explosiveness of nba players' movements in real life. i don't have turbo held down all the time so it doesn't look too fast for me. having less time to react to the ai also adds challenge.Comment

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
What we really need is some clarification. I was to understand that game speed is associated with the clock not how fast the players move.
I did drop my opponents speed and quickness down a bit. The quickness slider seems to have a more profound impact than speed.
I noticed dropping the quickness down below 45 allows the user to be a bit more effective on defense and staying in front of the CPU.
Seems to me the CPU "attacks" the basket way too much, I dropped that slider down but it had little effect.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
From my experience, game speed literally affects EVERYTHING. It affects the game clock, the players' speed, the speed of passes, and even animations. Put it at 0 and see for yourselfWhat we really need is some clarification. I was to understand that game speed is associated with the clock not how fast the players move.

IMO I like default, I think anything lower makes it a little sluggish.Last edited by RoyalBoyle78; 10-10-2014, 12:56 PM.N.Y Mets

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
The issue is you can't play 12 min quarters on default speed, because it will end up with unrealistic results with to many shots(like 2-3x the average of NBA).
That setup is optimized for online tournaments and other games modes.Comment

Re: 2k15 Game Speed
I use a 52 game speed in a pro/simulation setting. So far, I think it's the most realistic setting. I think game speed dictates the overall pace of the game (number of points scored, fouls, etc...).
This is in Association Mode. I'm 3 games in using the Celtics.
I beat the Nets in OT 104-101.
HIGHLIGHT: Joe Johnson scored 25. Kevin Garnett had 19 points and 19 rebounds. (I think this showed the lack of rebounding power of the Celtics, which is very realistic.)
I beat the Rockets 98-91.
HIGHLIGHT: James Harden scored 25. Dwight had 19 points and 15 rebounds. *ALERT! Dwight Howard actually got fouled out in the last minutes of the 3rd quarter, pressuring Houston to adjust their gameplan. Without Dwight, my bigs capitalized in the paint, Jeff Green dominated the 4th quarter by posting up and driving the lane. Thanks to Dwight fouling out.*
I lost to the Mavericks 95-80. Dallas was hot coming out of the gates, finishing with a FG% of 52. I think this is possible because of Dallas' strong offensive players (Ellis, Nowitzki, Parsons, Nelson, etc...). The Celtics were also having a hard time rebounding the ball, scoring of the paint, and making shots because of the presence of Chandler in the middle. Tried to get them with our 3's, but it just wasn't our night.
TIP:
1. I think pro/sim and a 52 game speed really makes games like this possible. I still haven't paid much attention to the stats that much, but so far so good.
2. Impact players in their respective teams generally are always the ones who fill up the stat sheets. I'm talking about starters. That's why they are starters. There's also the occasional spark provided by specialist bench players, you guys know what I mean. WHO YOU EXPECT TO PERFORM CONSISTENTLY ARE THOSE WHO REALLY PERFORM. (I noticed if the difficulty is in All Star or Superstar, bench players tend to take matters into their own hands and score like Lebron!)
3.With this setting, the CPU moves the ball around more because the individual players in the court play to their strengths. If there's a starter in the court with a couple of bench players, they usually play through him (If he is an offensive threat). I LIKE SEEING SOMETHING LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT GIVES YOU A SENSE OF ROLES AND RESPECT WITH THE PLAYERS.
4. Lastly, there's also a big impact on the part of the PLAYER. YES. YOU. If you want extreme simulation to happen, you gotta play like you are in a real game. You should start from the simple things.
a. Bring the ball up the court slowly, unless you see an opportunity for a fastbreak.
b. During a defensive rebound, do not press the pass button right away for a fastbreak if you see that the opposing team is down the court already. This is situational. If your pg rebounds it, and your opponent don't know what's happening, by all means press that turbo button!
c. Pay attention to the direction of your dribbles, know when to back down, work for spacing, look at your teammates.
d. Use fakes, take your time, run a lot of plays.
JUST PLAY LIKE YOU ARE IN THE COURT. TAKE IT SLOW. THINK IT OUT. DONT THINk ABOUT STATS. THINK ABOUT GETTING BUCKETS THE RIGHT WAY.
5. Put the defensive assist strength and boxout strength to 0 in the controller settings. This does not increase your defense strength or boxout strength, but the CPU's.MUCH LOVE!Comment

Nice post and thank you for the tips. I am curius about the boxout and defensive assist only effecting the CPU..I use a 52 game speed in a pro/simulation setting. I am 95% sure that those sliders directly effect the user controlled player..?Comment
