how do shot defense sliders effect gameplay?

When will 2k explain us how the gameplay sliders work and what it effects?
I can't remember it happens in the last 5 years. Nobody answer the questions. It seems that they haven't answers because nobody test the sliders if they work correctly.
Every slider have a code and at least they must tell us what is behind it for more clarification.

100% agree. Some kind of reference or explanation of sliders is sorely needed. Most are self explanatory, but some are not

Interesting. I will do some more testing tonight. The majority of my testing was with jumpshooting, as that is easier to see. I was using my custom sliders, with the only changes being to the shot defense sliders.

Awesome man, thank you for posting this! Looks like my original assessment was close to what DaCzar said.

I have been testing, and I think I like to have higher Gather and lower Release. This makes the defensive closeouts more effective, and helps separate stars with deadeye vs average shooters. A player like Melo (or old Kobe) can iso on the elbow, jab step, and hit a jumper in someones face.

A human being who has a right to his opinion. I stated that Me I did not understand the reason to start a new thread. Never did i say he can't post anything.
