There just isnt an organic system in place in 2k to allow for appropriate turnover...its the same with free throws.

Personally I just think this generation console is maxed out in more ways than one. I don’t doubt that developers pass by for ideas with so many experienced gamers here and what not. Look how far we have come in terms of gaming man. NBA live??? Lol anyone remember that on Genesis (Sega). To Dreamcast! Yo I’m happy to mess with 2K. I get frustrated like everyone else but when you get a set like these you can’t expect perfection. We have reached a point of no return. It’s either you going to find a way to make it entertaining or my advice don’t waste money buying it next year. These problems will crop up again.
Schnaidt1, Bro thanks for your continuation of making my gameplay as good as it get right now. Without these sliders my game play would be absolutely garbage. I’m enjoying myself now and I’m crossing my fingers that no updates come through and screw me royal!

That was the same issue as last year. 2k clearly didn't test their new progression/regression sliders last year and even though a lot of people commented on how inflated the ratings get, that never fixed it.

Here's the problem and i spent a ton of hours on it last year and and again this year.

There is no way (that I've found) to keep the same amount of 90 and 80 overalls 5 years in.

If you reduce progression, naturally, that helps, but the problem it creates is you don't get new players going up into the 90s.

Because 90% of players rated by mr stauffer are B- potential or better, you can see the problem this creates.

Older stars are given A potential to keep them from dropping so fast which worked with the old system, now that we have regression sliders, the entire potential system needs to be reworked. I've ran so many test simulations trying to figure out a way to get young stars to progress into the 90s while keeping average players average.

I have yet to find a combination.

So yea, I'll be taking another shot at them soon, but for now, you can really only go 3-4 years deep before everything is inflated.

I've used a few sliders and always ran into this problem. I usually just manually sign them to teams that could use their services. If it's an older player I'll change their position to make them sign for the minimum then change it back once they're signed.

Problem is when you have a young player in the lower 80s, sometimes high 70s sitting there but expecting $25mil+ a year. This is a 2k problem, not a slider problem. You can just lower their attribute to make them request a more realistic contract and then up it when they're signed.

Just my own preference.

One approach I tested extensively on 2k19 over multiple 20+ year sims was lowering all draft class player potentials each year by -4 or -5 and then adding +3 or +4 back to the top three players with the highest potentials. Both approaches work, just up to the user on how much spread you want between elite and everyone else.



Two things this accomplished; #1 it keeps the number of 80+ players within the same tolerance as the initial roster and #2 it still produces a few stars that are 90+.



I also lowered everyone's age by -1 each year. Draft Class Quality at 50.

Schnaidt1 - What are your thoughts on lowering morale all the way to 0? I ran a test - inputting all of your settings as is - puts wins and losses identical to the current NBA season and so many players are upset - I know that this is a topic that has been addressed repeatedly and may or may not be addressed by 2K at this point - but I had to stop when I saw that John Collins wants no more to do with the Hawks. Hard to imagine given the young core - the way he fits into that system - so I wanted to propose that question as stated above? 👆🏻By the way - thank you so much for all of your hard work on both 2K & Madden.

Thanks for the terrific work schnaidt. You’ve done it once again.

I just got 2 problems concerning the gameplay:
1. Game speed: Is it just me or does someone else also think that the speed of the game is to fast? (Especially in comparison to schnaidt’s 2k19 slider set) Players like LBJ, AD, Harden, Lillard, etc. seem to fly over the court when they move to the basket. There is no way you can stop them. I already lowered the game speed to 48 but that did not really work. Also by lowering the game speed some moves look weird. Especially when driving to the basket or putting on some skill moves.

2. Blowing by defenders (CPU&User): I’ve got the same problem as irdc. I can just hit speed(R2 without making any skill moves) and overrun the defender easily (@Genesio1: this even works with players having high 70s ratings. So it can not be a issue of playing with former and potential MVPs on the roster). Also the CPU can do the same thing with me. He just needs to run in full speed, skill moves are not even necessary and he will overrun my defenders. In combination with my first problem it makes players like LBJ transform in some sort of Superman modus. To solve that problem I raised defense awareness for both the CPU and user. Also I raised lateral quickness for both. It worked a bit but makes the gameplay look a little weird and shady.

So any of you guys got a idea how to solve those two issues?

Again a big thanks to schnaidt for putting so much effort in this slider set.

Thank you, I appreciate it!!

So, with morale at 0, I did test it..and nothing changed. Guys were still upset etc that made no sense and shouldnt be. However, with it at 0...pretty much everyone was playing at their rating or up 1 or 2. Didnt matter if they were anxious, upset, etc. That is why I had to use 25. It keeps players from all playing above their ratings all the time.

Yea, can't do to much with the gameplay speed or weird things happen.

So, I guess my thoughts would be to lower speed and acceleration more first. If that doesn't work then perhaps another buff to lateral quickness is needed.

I've not had an issue but seeing as a few of you are, that's what id look at if i were you and something I'll be looking at as well.
