They should have done this when he was on the cover recently. I saw absolutely zero point of featuring him like that in a 'Mamba forever' release without any kind of special game mode. Seemed like a rather cheap cash in based on his untimely passing.

But absolutely, yes. Would love to see a Kobe challenge next year. For me, my personal Mt Rushmore - he sits in second place behind MJ.

Would definitely love to recreate some of his iconic moments.

I'd put the 55 he scored against Jordan's Wizards in there, his record breaking 61 against the Knicks, and also his 62 points in 3 quarters against the Mavs.

I would throw in Game 7 against the Blazers in 2000 as that was a huge comeback for Kobe and company.

The game 7 against the Celtics is a good one to have, although Kobe did not have a good game that game if we are all honest.

All the ones you mentioned sound good.

Technically Stackhouse guarded him that game but would be an interesting challenge vs MJ wizards regardless.

But yeah Kobe challenge for 2K24 is a must. 2K21 was clearly a rushed homage, although it did yield necessary face scan updates.

I get the feeling 2K themselves would rather not do it since Kobe had a cover in 21 AND they just gave us all new Kobe sigs in 2K22. So there’s really no improvements there can make to the actual Kobe in the game. But backlash would be swift and Kobe challenge makes it worth it. They can even use their new hand checking/physicality rules engine they developed for MJ’s challenge for #8 Kobe games.

Obviously beating Celtics would be one. Maybe a game 7 where you have to reach his rebound total would be cool since he struggled shooting that series.

81 points would be an epic one. Also maybe they can give us the 09 Lakers finally.

I personally would love a Shaquille O'Neal or Hakeem Olajuwon Challenge. I miss traditional big man basketball in the worst way!
