I believe what he is saying is that 2k need to start using real player body types. When they scan the tattoos etc why not use the body scan for the player?

cuz they aren't scanning the shapes of the people! and it would cause 1000000 issues when it came to animations.. let it go.

Gotta love the near enough is good enough attitude of some people. Like other games don’t already do it 😂😂
What other developer insights do you have?

Guess I'm in the "near enough is good enough" crowd. Personally, I haven't played any videogames that have photorealistic body types while the game is in motion. Tomb Raider was pretty good though.

I lean more towards the "near enough is good enough" crowd but there are definitely some body types and issues that bother me. Players like Embiid and Shaq could be improved. Players in general could be longer and lankier. And ever since people pointed out waist lines and the lack of behinds on the players it's hard to unsee. That said, for me, it's one of those things that would be great if it was finally improved, but I'm not holding my breath every year hoping a body model overhaul.

Never said sports video games but happy to still provide the example of esports boxing club. Creating 1:1 body and face scans proving it can be done. Scanning players bodies is not some unknown technology. Very achievable

                    A delayed game?

Achievable? Perhaps. Usable? Don't know, because the animations look wonky in this video. Even then...apples to oranges to me.

It’s always odd looking bodies … someone like harden and Mitchell who always look too skinny in game and they are bulky guards. Luka doncic has a really odd body he’s a big dude he looks skinny in game.

I don’t think they can scan body shapes, but they should at least be using a better , longer, base model. I hate seeing this 6’9 giants w long torsos and short stubby legs.
