The Photographic Side of NBA 2K23

2K nailed how lighting plays of the players/floor/arena in these zoomed out shots. Especially these era filter ones. A good chunk of screenshots in this thread look like they are pulled straight off a sports illustrated page.

On the other side of the spectrum up close there is almost a slight cartoon-ish looking overlay they seemed to have added to players this year. It’s not a bad thing but noticeable. The ones where you see that paired with the giant turned heads make a couple screen look really arcade-y for lack of a better word.

Overall I’m the most impressed I think I’ve been from 2k visually and in terms of just immersion with all the retro details. But still weird to see a damn near perfect photo realistic shot right next to a shot that looks like it would almost be a modern NBA street or something.
