    NBA2k23 Shooting

and no this is not My Career related

    H2H level HOF:
so you telling me if its not Green its not going in right? 2k/Mike Wang have to change this wide open shots with full bar not going in at 0% rate or at least make Green window much larger for WIDE OPEN, it needs to be some kind of balance here. 2K21 balance was better than this iish

Surprised it took this long for a shooting thread to pop up.

HOF level is unforgiving, but I like where shooting is.

Keep practicing and try the different options available.

Release time, even your meter option can make a big difference

Huh? I don't understand. A green release has 100% of going it, which it does. The shot can go in even if you don't get a green realease.
I don't understand what your issue is.

Is it at HOF level for shooting? I just assumed that the sliders were at Superstar for all modes.

I know most will not like this but the shooting this year with timing is very good to me. It really doesn't take much time to master the shot releases. Every team you want to use you have to master the releases.

Try this first to see if this helps turn on shot feedback, turn off the meter go into freestyle mode and learn the releases on default. Then there is an option to change what release window you prefer. I can't remember the last 2K I didn't go into freestyle mode before playing actual games to make sure shooting felt the same.

The shooting is laughable right now. I wish they would keep this Park crap out if the 5 v 5 modes.

If I’m online and I see my opponent doesn’t green a jumper I’m already running back on defense.

The good news is every year the shooting is difficult at the start until it gets buffed after a week or two.

I agree that we'll timed non-greens need a slight boost, but 2k22 was over the top absurd. You could win games scoring 4 total paint points.

Having the option to utilize real fg percentage in online games and leagues would be a godsend.

I think this years shooting is a good compromise and I hope they don’t touch it.

It reminds me of the tight windows from the older 2K’s. We wanted to lower %’s and making dudes think twice before throwing up shots with Draymond and we got it.

In MyNBA, I am having a terrible time trying to make shots. Even when my release is perfect and the defender isn't really defending, I can't make a shot! 95% of my points are from in the paint. I'm playing ranked All-Star level. I changed some of the sliders to help me out, but honestly, why is it so difficult?

I agree with all those who say that this year the timing is very good and I hope not to see a big change. And it's normal to have difficulties in HOF mode, this level is not realistic. The AI has much too much success in shooting compared to you (You should rather lower the shooting level of the ia in HOF). In all star mode it is very coherent and even superstar.
I put "release very late" in the options and the only critics I have on the timing is :
                          • There are animations where the "perfect point" is not at the release of the ball (especially for hook shots : I made a video in the bug/glitch topic. Go see)
                          • the perfect release for layup is always random : taking when the last foot is off the ground wouldn't be a good idea ?
                          • the timing display during an alley oop.... grrrr......

I think it is too easy overall. Sure whites rarely going in kind of sucks but greening is possible at a 50%-60% rate without too much skill and practice, especially on open shots. If people only green about 1/3 threes and some whites are going in, it would be perfect. Otherwise you risk having a situation like last year were taking threes rewards more points per shot than scoring 100% from the 2point area.

Has anyone have any real success with RP% either offline or in the H2H (PNO, MyTeam, etc) modes? Admittedly, I'm not shooting as good as I would like on open shots. Shooting less than 35% is not an uncommon occurrence for me, lol. To be fair, the players I shoot with are above 80, but less than 90 on their 3PT rating.

The players I seem to be the most "consistent" (in MyTeam) with are Jordan despite his low 3PT percentage, Fred Jones, and kinda Jimmy Butler. I only say kinda, because dude has an UGLY set jumpshot. In PNO, Myles Turner.
