I use real player % for shooting so the stick is useless to me. I far far prefer the button. But I also started playing games well before the stick was introduced and have never really gotten used to it.

Button for jumpers (usually) but stick for attacking the rim.

I switched to X a couple of years ago. I think it was 2k20? From that game on, there was a little and not consistent delay on shooting when using the stick before the shot animation started.

Mixture honestly and that surprised me. I loved the analog stick beforehand, since it was first introduced it immediately felt natural to me.

I got more consistent results with hop step/euro moves with the button. Used to shoot with the shot stick until they tied more moves into it. Now if I have a stationary shot or a stepback I go for the button, but fancier moves I go shot stick.
