What Freelances and Series do you use in 2k23?

What freelances and series are you running this year?

I have just started using the Denver freelance and i like it. It has a good mix of ball screens, off ball screens for 3 pt shots, and cuts. Sometimes it can take a while for the plays to form, though.

I haven't dove into series sets this year, but I know that's another rabbit hole I can go down in.

What are you running and why?

I've been running a mixture of 21 delay and Point.

I too haven't touched series yet. But I hope soon I do.

i would love to tinker with Series and freelances but the fact that you have to select the series/freelances atthe Start of each game is such a hassle i am Not willing to do...

I kind of can't play without it. It only takes a few seconds. I'm sure if you were to try to scout my gameplay. You'd figure out it's randomly all over the place what the next play is going to be. I also think the other important thing for me is the spacing. I know where everyone is going to be on the floor and how they rotate from those spots.

edit: Also it depends on what team I'm playing with. Like for the 98 Spurs. I'm running a 3 out 2 in without a doubt. I need Duncan and Robinson as close to the rim at all times lol.

The 7 sec or less is about the closest thing I can find to the John Calipari dribble drive offense I run at my HS, so I go with that.

I find myself having to create my own actions to create driving gaps such as manual screen & pops with my guards & fowards & rolls for the center. The one thing I wish out of the offense is that the C could do a better job staying opposite the ball as I drive. Like, literally just flash block to block on middle drives, and roll up to the FT line on baseline drives.

If you're playing MyNBA just select the playbook that has the freelance you like as the default. Or I think your offensive settings save within the mode.
I'm also all about 21 Delay.

playing online leagues, doesn't save there. also I cannot select the playbook of another team, as there are known bugs that happen when multiple teams use the same playbook. additionally I'd like to add my own plays to the playbook which I can't do, when another team is using it.

I run the triangle freelance and use created series that the bulls and lakers used in the past. I also have a early offense and secondary break scheme that gets me easy points in transition and semi-transition situations. My offense isn’t reliant on one player and don’t need to change my whole playbook if players get injured or leave the team.

What I really like about 21 Delay. Is the center is always near the top of the key. It gives room for DHO. So anytime I'm rotating the ball. I can go into DHO.

It also opens up the cutting. Off ballers get confused about what they should be doing lol

For example... In this game, I've had either passed it back to Fox, Pick and roll or I DHO. Now, remember it's the start of the second half so he's been seeing this over and over (and for the most part) he been playing on ball defense. But as you can see he's trying to steal the pass lol. So I hit that cut button and boom Fox for an easy one.

That's why I use 21 Delay lol. Especially if the team has a passing big.

The amount of early offense backdoor cuts available with 21 Delay is criminal. I tend to ignore the big (I play with the Nets so Claxton isn't the guy I want getting that pass) and hit the wing coming up on the weakside. The play initiator who brought the ball up immediately dives with the big setting a pinup screen. Easy layup.

First time down I always do this so I can also see what defensive set the other team is playing. If they vacate the corner man on the side that has 2 wings spotting up I know the drive and kick will be available. If they don't I know it's time to eat at the rim.

The 5 out series is nice. Obviously you need 5 shooters.
