MY NBA Eras Kobe Era Historic Changes

I'm running a few test files to make sure things are going alright (I've lost faith in the mode after my previous files stopped working after year 3) and after 2002-03 season the Historic Changes listed includes the Denver Nuggets updating their logos/uniforms/court, but when I go into the edit player menu, I still see the old uniforms, same thing on the Edit Uniforms screen when entering a game.

When the Charlotte Bobcats are added as an expansion team, they're using the Bobcats logo, but the 89''96 Charlotte Hornets uniforms.

Is this a known thing? Is there anything I can do get around this? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Re: MY NBA Eras Kobe Era Historic Changes

I haven't done a Kobe-era run-through yet but those sorts of inconsistencies do, in fact, happen in the other eras. I've chalked it up to the size and breadth of the mode; it seemed inevitable that some things would fall through the cracks when you're talking about a game that releases a new iteration on an annual cycle.

The solution I've been successfully using up to this point has been to control all 30 teams then just download the proper "rebrand" for the franchise in question.

For example, in the case of the Bobcats, I'd go to the "Relocations/Rebrand" tab and search "Bobcats". I'd imagine someone's probably uploaded the full 2000's Bobcats rebrand by now (could be wrong though, of course). If it's there, you select it and boom, you've got your proper Bobcats court and branding.

Are the ones uploaded the actual uniforms? Or did someone create them as best they could?
I've always noticed in the uploads that sometimes people get the official uniforms and courts and there and didn't know how they did it.

        So, it depends.

2K has a pretty deep trove of retro uniforms so what often happens is users will have access to the actual jerseys but may have to create a custom court.

For example, the Charles Barkley-era Suns jerseys already exist in 2K but the Barkley-era court does not. So I used the 2K-provided jerseys then learned how to create and upload all the logos needed to recreate the Suns' actual court. Then I uploaded the entire rebrand for others to download for their own use.

The tougher road is when the jerseys don't exist either. I'm pretty awful at jersey creation but some have an eye for it. The rookie Iverson Sixers jerseys are not in 2K by default, for example, but I think some folks have made them from scratch.

So I guess it all really depends. Pertaining to the Nuggets, anyway, their Carmelo-era jerseys and court have been in 2K before and may still be as part of a classic team (can't remember if they were dropped or not) so all that art may have been really accessible. And I think Bobcats retros have been in the game for a while too.

The Bobcats, for whatever reason, finally get their proper uniforms during the 2007 off-season.

What you could do is simulate to that point in one save, copy the team branding, and then override it in 2004. Alternatively, I have it copied on Xbox under my gamertag (same as my username).

Re: MY NBA Eras Kobe Era Historic Changes

I'm actually running a Bobcats franchise currently. I went to the 2k share and searched Bobcats or maybe Charlotte and the ones I downloaded seem legit. I think they even say "04 home/away" in the select screen.

I also took control of Denver to change them to the Melo Era unis. They have modern "sponsors" badges on them. But since I don't play as them or play them often I can live with it. (These were the only ones I saw that had the dark blue/gold alternates as well and I love those unis so I had to use it)

The all star jerseys not changing is what hurts the most. I watched the 2k trailer/deep dives where they stated the jerseys would be there as well as players wearing their own unis. But it never happens. Just modern day.

Maybe there's an off-season "rule change" that makes it change. But I haven't really looked into much.

Regarding the All-Star jerseys, I think there was some misunderstanding based upon the initial wording of the feature.

That was 2K's way of saying that all-stars would wear their own team jerseys in the late 90's and early 2000's to align for that era in which teams did that in real life. But I think we all got a bit carried away and assumed the other all-star jerseys would be included as well, even though it was never stated they would be.

If nothing else, it'd be nice to be able to download All-Star templates in future 2K's. I'm picturing being able to do so at the All-Star City Selection screen.

That's true. We may have jumped the gun on that. But even the 80s- early 90s could AT LEAST wear the Jordan Challenge all star jerseys. Instead of the modern style . There's at least a classic asset in the game that could/should be used.

Yea a 2k share for AS unis would be sweet. Choose the city - then choose a uniform, floor, etc

The Nuggets situation is a known one but the weird thing is, the Bobcats one for me didnt show the older Charlotte uniforms..it showed the correct ones from jump.. now maybe I received the alternate I think a year later but I got the right home and away
