This happens way too much year to year with 2K. It happened on last generation too that one year you've got great reflections on the court, and the next year they look matte. I don't know if they purposely do this to make it look different from the year before.

Yeah it’s definitely either to make simple returns to previous years look like upgrades or a glitch or to save cpu power or something. But the courts just don’t look right in 24 at all. And someone pointed out lighting on skin textures look worse too and that already could've gotten better.

For example, for 2K23 they introduced the smoky hazy filter and everyone here was saying how much of an upgrade it was (return to 2K8 lighting or something). Now 2K24 lighting looks more like 2K22 lighting than 2K23 lighting and that’s an upgrade lol. Next year they’ll go back to hazy atmospheres and glossy courts then it’ll be a huge upgrade again. Rinse and repeat.

The animations in this game are so damn authentic it’s hard to grasp. It so lifelike sometimes you’re shocked when you see something that looks video game ish. Insane how far we’ve come over the years.

Loving the Pro Play; Jump Shots, Passing action, Dribbles, Shot style, different Layup animation for players- Loving it. ( on the players they have updated with Pro Play).

HUGE improvement in gameplay/immersion by this technology.

When/IF they use film of ALL time players and Classic Team players and Pro Play captures their individual styles it will improve gameplay incredibly.

Can you imagine Wilt’s actual shot fade and Gervins finger roll from this technology?

Gameplay improvements beyond the Pro Play is the FLOW of the game. Individual tempo/ change of speed by most players vastly improved. Shooting is more realistic ( Inside game seems a little low for FG made to me).

DEFENSIVE Play is FUN again.

Looking forward to updates for a change from 2k with the Pro Play technology.

Best “Out of the Box” gameplay every by 2k.

If you are still playing 23……………. You are missing out.

Out of the box, probably the best 2K game play wise in a mighty long time. The movement is fluid. The AI is aggressive on both sides of the ball. Fastbreaks actually work, had a few of them and so did the CPU. It is like outlet passes have way more zip on them. Going against Miami is a chore. Tyler Herro will light you up from 3 and Jimmy will light you up from mid range or simply drive on you. Dribbling is nice. Strength is nice however I would rather see players stumble or get knocked down to the ground instead of how it is now. I think it is the bulldozer badge or something that pushes them away a little too far, where as when I saw just a stronger player without the badge do it, it looked more natural.

But overall, right now I will give the game a 9.5 out of 10. Game play movement is just so smooth.

Gameplay on XBOX Series S is really fluid but I am experiencing a really weird issue that only occurs during gameplay and not to the hud or anything...

So weirdly enough during gameplay the models and some other items have transparent filter lines going across them like noise or static...

The TV I have the little S hooked to is not 4K so maybe it's just a resolution thing but it's enough to drive me nuts or atleast was last night.

Re: NBA 2K24 Impressions Thread (XBOX SERIES X, PLAYSTATION 5)

Got to play for 1hr last night on my PS5.

Was really impressed on how the players move and look compared to 2K23.
These are probably some of the best/realistic basketball movements/animations I have seen in a basketball game.

I liked that in the Play now/Era quick games that they added the option to use costume rosters in the ERA quick games now

Loved hearing the old school NBA on NBC music.

Was impressed on how the classic players played and especially moved around in the Mamba Challenge and in ERA's mode compared to 2K23.

The Pro Play is defiantly going to be a game changer if they keep updating the current and classic players with this feature.
