Re: NBA 2K24 Trade Deadline Roster Update Available
If you're wanting to start a new MyNBA save, may be best to wait a week or two for the buyout market to take effect, as right now the game signs retired guys to fill 14th roster spots (Dragic > OKC, Ross > NY, Rubio > Cavs) when you start a save.
Also, the following pick swaps haven't yet been included, so you'll need to create your own pick trades if you want correct picks (this needs to be done after the 2024 draft lottery in "Start Today" as the trade deadline has passed):
IND 2024 1st > UTA
IND 2024 1st (OKC) > TOR
IND 2026 1st (top 5 protected) > TOR
PHI 2024 2nd > IND
PHI 2024 2nd (NY) > DET
PHO 2026 2nd (MIL) > BKN
PHO 2028 2nd (BOS) > BKN
OKC 2024 1st > WAS
OKC 2024 2nd > CHA
OKC 2025 2nd > CHA
MIL 2027 2nd > PHI
DAL 2027 1st (top 3 protected) > CHA
CHA 2024 2nd (BOS) > DAL
CHA 2028 2nd > DAL
NY 2028 2nd > DET
NY 2024 2nd (DET) > TOR
DET 2028 2nd > PHI
DET 2024 2nd (Was) > UTA
DET 2025 2nd > WAS
DET 2026 2nd (NY) > WAS
HOU 2024 2nd (OKC) > MEM
HOU 2024 2nd (BKN) > MEM
HOU 2025 2nd > MEM
MIA 2027 1st > CHA (you need to turn off Stepien rule to do this one)
The following picks were also traded, but you can't do it until you're into at least the second season, as the cut off is 2028 at the start:

It's actually Top 2 protected IIRC
DET 2028 2nd > PHI
Worth noting a lot of picks like this one are intended to never convey. This one has Top 55 protection. Detroit is unlikely to be a Top 5 team even four years from now.
IND 2024 1st > UTA
OKC 2024 1st > WAS
This one is actually...
Thunder’s, Clippers’, Rockets’ (top-four protected), or Jazz’s (top-10 protected) 2024 first-round pick (whichever is least favorable).
And....
Thunder’s, Clippers’, Rockets’ (top-four protected), or Jazz’s (top-10 protected) 2024 first-round pick (whichever is second-least favorable).
In layman's terms, it's going to be the Thunder and Clippers picks that are traded, we just don't know which one is going where until the end of the season.
I should probably get around to maintaining a spreadsheet for draft picks on top of everything else I track, there just hasn't been a huge need to since you can't trade them in a roster file in 2024.

Yeah the Mavs pick is top two protected but the game only lets you protect top three. You also have to.do that particular trade in the 2024/25 season as you can only apply protections up to 2026 in the first season.
Of course this is all just for neurotic weirdos like me that need everything to be as accurate as possible.

I just want to highlight something. It comes back to my how we rate bench players.
Marcus Sasser, this guy is so quick and has a nasty pull up game. But if you play with him or take a look at his ratings. You would think he's a G League or Highschool player who just joined the league. Watch any game you'd be like he's definitely quick. 75 speed and 75 acceleration
Another Piston, Mike Muscala for his entire career he's been known as a 3 point shooting big. Nothing has changed in his game. But he's been in the league for a long time. But has zero shooting badges on top of that.

Looks like most of the draft picks have been updated now which is great.
Still a few contract inaccuracies, but these are easily editable:
- Lowry and Theis should be on the vet min for this season only, but are both still on their Miami/Indiana terms
- Craig Porter Jr has now been converted onto a multiyear deal, but is still listed as 2-way
- Davis Bertans still has a player option for $16m, this should now be $5.25m
- Josh Primo should have a second year (albeit only partially guaranteed for $1m in 24/25)
All-Star rosters are slightly inaccurate when using "Start Today" as I think it randomly generates the rosters rather than using the correct ones, but you can manually add/remove players to correct this.
Roster injuries are still a complete mess but again, easily editable (albeit time consuming).
One small bugbear is that 10-day guys get added to rosters on full season contracts. I am guessing this is because there isn't the functionality to add players to a roster as a 10-day only?
Finally, Ross and Rubio still get automatically signed by NY and NO respectively to get to 14 players. Releasing them and adding an injury (or "personal reasons") doesn't prevent them from being re-signed again, so you either need to manually sign a different player for those teams, or manually edit their attributes so they have a low OVR to prevent re-signing. (I do the latter as they don't always retire after the first season, so this prevents them signing for a new team in 24/25.)
