Bank Shots Removed in NBA 2K25?

Hello everyone,
Has anyone figured out how to bank shots? It seems like they removed the feature, in the year when mid-range shots are excellent, especially with the improved contest system and the return of fadeaways.

I think I hit a bank shot off of one of the signature moves (up on the stick). I also had a long range three bank in late on the shot clock but that is one of the random animations they have.

If you're using the shot button then your player needs to have a big "use glass" tendency to try the bank shot. I hit a lot of bank shots with KG so far, some with Pierce on the shooting button.


If you use the shot stick then you have to press the stick directly towards the basket and your player will try a bank every shot you do that way

I've already bought this up in the post up thread. It's been driving me crazy. It's been really bothering me some of the changes made. The fact that an animation starts playing out after I've pressed up on the right stick after having it as bank for years is crazy in my opinion.

not all players regularly use bank shots. It's better via tendencies rather than user input.

Ahhhh that's how it use to work. I was thinking about making a video of all the times I "mistakenly" press up on the shot stick to end up in that stupid go to shot animations. It's by far driving me insane.

I've definitely got quite a few with Luka and Kyrie. Not intentionally, but think it was always out of some kind of gather shot that I can recall.

I think you're missing the point of this thread. The user can't tell it's player to go glass with a shot with the shot stick. So we are relying on tendencies. If those were correctly changed. I'd have a little more confidence in the situation. I know things have to die so other things can grow. Forcing everyone into shot stick is one thing. But removing it for a animation go to. Man that sucks!!! Especially have it there for years.

It's much worse than that! The new rhythm shooting system forces you to remove bank shots, but it would’ve been VERY easy to keep them with a bit of creativity and, more importantly, some effort. For example, during the shooting animation, pressing the R3 or L3 button would’ve been easier, or using RT or LT. In short, there are solutions. But even though NBA2K25 is great thanks to its animations, the rest is just a lot of superficial stuff that either doesn’t work or works poorly. The tactical menus are in a terrible state.

By the way, I have a somewhat popular YouTube channel where I talk about this in my review video (I should probably consider translating it into English). Unfortunately, I’m the only one in France on YouTube who truly knows the game and plays as a simulation player. There are hardly any YouTubers left who REALLY understand the game (most just focus on building characters and following the meta), and it's becoming increasingly rare. This is evident in the game's development: many essential features, which are part of the fundamentals of basketball, are disappearing and no one’s talking about it. Reporting bugs doesn’t help—2K only seems to fix MyPlayer and MyTeam...

What you explained is how I feel about the Disengage Post. They added this awesome feature for getting out of the post. To this year removing it. And adding the same way to do something twice in the controller. What a waste of scheme and design. In really tired of this kind of stuff

I'm like 99% sure they have data telling them people don't use it. I get why the decision was made. But like MiiF23 said (It's lazy) and they could of put it somewhere else. Just like disengage
