    Player potential changing in offseason???

Hey everyone, not sure where else to post this question since I don’t have permission to make a thread?

I am wanting to play and simulate into the future from 2002, I edited every players min and max potential, so that even though league history may change the peaks and player progression should roughly feel like the real nba players did in 2006, etc

Unfortunately the CPU meddles with the progression and potential even between seasons? For example I had T-Mac’s max potential as 96, but now when I edit his vitals he is a max potential 98 and is a 98 overall in 2005.

Is there anyway to override this? I am upset because it feels like HOURS of work has gone wasted.

Yeah I’ve always hated this, too. It defeats the entire purpose of the attribute. There isn’t really a built-in solution AFAIK, and—though old-gen had a modding framework that allowed for modders to make seamless bug fixes—I wouldn’t expect any mods to fix such issues on 2K25, so you kinda just have to be mindful of it and track/manage potentials for your league manually.

Wow lol what a pain. This game..,. Lol. Like, if I manually change their potential it means I did on purpose 2K!! Now I get to edit 300 players every season yay
